I never quite understood this. What exactly is the point of a message board in the off-season if you're not going to speculate about what's coming next? I mean, if everyone was "prudent", what in the world would be talked about?

Uniform colors, and cheerleaders ?

No actually that is not what I was getting at, at all. I was saying that, in reference to Leinart. I know Matt can spin the rock with the best of them, but he has to let it go, and play how he wants to play.

Warner didn't always listen to Whiz, or his coaches. If he saw something he went after it, Whiz be damned.

Lienart has the potential and the swagger, but not right now, and he is running out of chances to find it.

Again where is the rookie QB I saw against the Vikings ?
Completely agree with that. Just like the draw call the other night. I don't think he didn't see the blitz but he refused to change Whiz's call. He needs to man up a little. Maybe the Coach is trying to make him get so mad at the Coach he says screw it and calls everything on his own lol. Who knows...

Think people really need to realize Whiz even said NO CHANGE ON THE DEPTH CHART, in other words Matt has NOT been beat out he just wants to see DA play against some ones. In other words it may be HIS last chance to even be on the team, as they like the young 2 QB's alot! DA may have to perform well just to stay on the roster I find it laughable that people are talking as though Matt has been beaten out and may be cut....geesh!

Agreed. We won't know what the reason is behind it, but this could be it. Whiz needs to see what he has in DA.

I guess I should have said this earlier, it is not like Anderson is doing this superb job, and is beating out Leinart. He is not.

But Leinart has not done enough to not allow Anderson an oppourtunity. But lets not go nuts. Leinart has only let Anderson into the competition, they still have to compete. Remeber it is about EARNING a spot.

I find it laughable that people are talking as though Matt has been beaten out and may be cut....geesh!

Agreed. Leinart is not going anywhere, that is just crazy.

Think for the most part we are on the same page Rugby!

I think most are.

But NOBODY knows what the Whiz is thinking or doing. He does this to us EVERY PRESEASON.

We will see what happens. It made Saturday nights game A LOT more interesting for the fans, and I bet the players too!

What I think is going to happen is if Whiz names Anderson his starter for the first game, then Matt and his agent are going to ask for a trade or his outright release. If the Cards don't give it to them then I think there is the chance that Matt will tune them out. I really hope I'm wrong.

You guys are missing this....the 3rd preseason game is the MOST IMPORTANT....starters sit in week 4.....Whiz said he is looking for First downs....IF ANderson tears up or plays well in the first half.....HE has no choice but to start him in game 1...Period....It wouldn't make any sense for him not too. He is also moving projected starters on def in too...Washington and Toler....

All DA has to do is perform well...and Matt will be released because no way he backs up again.

Your missing that pre-season means SQUAT to KW and he obviously doesn't run the preseason like other teams so game 3 means what.....SQUAT to KW! Leinart will start period DA is a proven loser, Leinart at least still has a chance to have a decent career if given an opportunity which again he HAS NOT been given!

I certainly hope this is the let's see if DA is even worth keeping on the roster and not let's screw Leinart over. I would be deeply disappointed if this was Whiz not liking Matt and using this as a way to release him.

I don't claim to be a football coach but I do know one thing being a soccer coach, you fit the system to the players you have, you DON'T force fit the players into the system you prefer to play.

You play to the players strength and cover their weaknesses.

It's still inside him. The 2 shoulder injuries made him gunshy, losing his job in Oakland ripped away his aggressiveness, then inserting Warner in a 2 minute offsense took away his trust of the HC knowing he wouldn't play again until Kurt retired or was injured took & also took away his pride. Today, Wiz's actions today took away his soul. I understand the injuries were a fluke & will never forget what #13 did for the team & organization, but if Warner hadn't been on the roster I really believe Matt Leinart would already be a star on the Aizona Cardinals.

It's going to take a new scenery for Leinart to regain what we saw as a rookie.

Agreed...DA is not the answer and Matt has been dogged by Whiz....But I just think Whiz doesn't like Matt...and that he is Toast here.

Man to bad we can't get Aaron Rodgers... Packers offense is going to replace ours from the last 2 years.

Matt hasn't been the same player since he gave up the beer bong.

This so witty and full of insight, I wish I had thought of it. But, being a Card I probably would have changed my mind and not posted it. I might have just let it go.

Best View of this situation yet. Sounds dead on

"Derek Anderson gets the start, and that means both he and Matt Leinart will be under additional scrutiny. Much was made, and rightfully so, about coach Ken Whisenhunt's decision to replace Leinart with Anderson to start this game. But nothing has necessarily changed for good. If Anderson struggles and Leinart finally breaks out, Whisenhunt will look like a master motivator. If Anderson outplays Leinart, hey, Whisenhunt must have known what he was doing all along. The priority, though, isn't for Whisenhunt to look smart. It's for the Cardinals to get the most out of their quarterbacks."

ESPN talking about each game this week.

It's not that Whiz doesn't like Leinart, it's more that their personalities on the field don't jive. I've heard Whiz's pregame rant of "Let's come out swinging" so often & it's obvious that Whiz wants a gunslinger at the QB position. Leinart can be a good NFL QB, but he's far from a gunslinger mentality. DA has more of that style, but his innacuracy has doomed him. I think Whiz loves Hall's intelligence & attacking style, but Whiz no doubt would prefer a bigger QB with a bigger arm. Nonetheless, I really think the Cardinals think that Hall is NFL ready. Skelton has all the physical attributes, but isn't ready yet. Maybe the Cardinals keep all four?? But if it's 3, then it's going to be 1. Leinart, 2. Hall, 3. Skelton. The greatest attribute is our system is accuracy & DA is perhaps the least accurate NFL QB that I can remember in the modern era.

You must not have seen too many Raiders games the last 2 years. It was amazing to watch Jamarcus miss guys by a mile.

I do agree on Anderson though, he's just not accurate enough, if we had a team of speedy WR's you could make an argument for him but we don't. We tend to have to move the ball in chunks and a guy like him is more likely to turn it over in that system.

Anderson has a great arm but no touch and no accuracy.

My bad. OK, he's the 2nd most inaccurate passer that I've ever seen!!

Maybe Todd Haley can transform DA like he did KW and his fumbles/ints?

oh Wait....

This is Whiz playing Whiz games. Whiz has his boys, and he has boys that he hates. Whiz hates Matt, hates Edge, and sometimes it seems he hates Beanie. Why? Who the hell knows. Whiz perfected his favorites only shenanigans instituting the rediculous "Kurt Warner no-huddle package" and then topped that off by benching Edge which resulted in the Cards losing their running game for almost half a season, only to bring him back in week 17 along with the rest of the offense. Anyone who thinks Edge wasn't a big part of the Super Bowl run is blind. We have seen Whiz's cocky, rediculous moves before. I would say I am surprised but I am not. Matt needs a change of scenery. Playing Warner over Matt....well that is understandable. Playing Derek Anderson over Matt is an insult and is meant to be one. Leinart and Whiz don't mesh. They never will. I hope he gets released soon and gets a legitimate shot to succeed because I have no doubt he has it in him. But no one can succeed when the coach not only dislikes you, he goes out of his way to ensure you fail. 3rd and one....let's go deep. No huddle offense? Let's bring in Warner. Unfortunately it looks like this day was destined the day Whiz took over......We want to make Whiz out to be a God because he took us places no one has, but that dpesn't mean his arrogance can't lead us right back to the cellar.

All I know is I want the two rookie QBs on the roster so the Cardinals have some hope for the future.
