Fitz and Rolle have both publicly voiced their support for Leinart, and their comments went essentially unnoticed. One anonymous player rails on him, and it's a story. All Matt can do is shut everyone up with his play. I have faith in him to do so. Matt doesn't sound too concerned, either.

“There is all this talk that my receivers don’t trust me, but to me, that’s a bunch of nonsense,” Leinart said. “I am as close to my wide receivers as Kurt is. I love those guys and we have a great relationship. Not being the starting quarterback, it’s a little different, but I know Larry (Fitzgerald) and he said he’s got my back. We will work hard, get comfortable with each other, and you know what? It’s going to work out.”

Coming from any player it is worrisome. If he is to be the team leader he needs the support of all the players. I would bet that Boldin and Fitz have some worries after playing for one of the best QB's in the NFL. Warner has a much stronger arm that Matt and has been very accurate. He can throw the ball accurately into tight coverage. We can only hope that Matt can do these things. He needs to be good right from the start or he will quickly lose the confidence of the real leaders of the team such as Fitz or Boldin if he is here.

What Boldin and Fitz do not say is scary. If they really thought Matt was the real thing they would be saying so. They are classy enough to just keep quiet if they have concerns. That in itself is telling and throws up a red flag. We are all assuming Matt is the starter. He probably is but we could still sign some FA QB or trade for one and make Matt once again compete for the job. In any case I think we need to sign a QB who has played successfully in the NL at some point. What if Matt goes down or sucks? Will one of our two QB's fill the bill?

It was BSP. He wants Leinart to fail and hopes the Cards resign him and make him the starter.

My thoughts exactly.

LoL, great minds think alike

I keep remembering when he broke his collarbone - he looked like he was crying on the sidelines.

BUT that was 2 years ago. Onward ho!!

It's easy to hate a guy when he's isn't really doing anything for the team. If we start off the season 5-1 I bet everyone loves him.

I hope the Aaron Rodgers scenario replicates itself in Arizona. Rodgers arguably had it worse. Like many here, Rodgers was hated by some of the fans because they were spoiled by Favre's success, kind of like we were with Warner. It was said that a 6 year old went up to Rodgers at the beginning of his first training camp as a starter and said "we don't love you." Obviously, he was able to shake that off.
