Okay.... So how much times passes between Empire and Jedi? What did Luke do to think he's now a full fledged Jedi where he can start adding it to his name title? He was only with Yoda for like a few days... he floated some rocks, but when he comes out in Jedi he's dropping the Jedi name to Jabba the Hut all over the place.

My question is, what was he doing to train up? Taking online courses? If a lot of time really did pass why did it take them so long to come rescue Han Solo? At the end of Empire they made it seem like it was a pretty big priority. So how did Luke have all the time to hatch this intricate rescue plan and still finish his self taught Jedi training?

He ditched Yoda who got all pissed off and stressed out about it that he dies. Luke has the friggen touch of death dude, every person he meets with an understanding of the Force dies... but that's another thread

Luke may as well of went to the mall and had business cards printed out that said, "Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight LLC" because just because he's saying he is doesn't make him one. Look at Episodes I, II and III... friggen Anakin was in training for like 20 years and couldn't get the Jedi title.

Actually the time tables have always been a little vague in terms of Star Wars universe. In some instances they seem to be able to go from one starsystem to the next in the blink of an eye. I think they leave it up to the audience to figure out how much time has past. For instance how long did it take for Luke's buddies to travel to cloud city. Was it days, weeks, months? If you use that as a basis then he spent at least that amount of time with Yoda. Then again....I do like the online courses explanation.

Also what he did in the time between movies has only been addressed in some of the Star Wars novels. Nothing as far as "official cannon". So take your pick.

There must be some sort of galactic internet because he makes himself a new lightsaber between Empire and Jedi.... it's not like he's just going to go into the tool shed with a 6 pack of beer and bust one out in an afternoon.

...and how did Lando get the sweet guard gig? Did he just show up for the job fair with his own uniform or what? That was a pretty integral part of the plan to free Han Solo along with the ironic positioning of R2 as Jabba's bartender thing

How lame is that! I never even thought of that. Those damn Jedis are worse than the good wizards in Harry Potter who constantly get kicked around by the bad ones and rely on juvenile deliquents to save them.

"full fledge" Jedi doesn't mean he's a Jedi Knight or a Jedi Master.

Luke finished the training after rescuing Solo...In Empire he promised Yoda he would return to complete his training.

1) History of family violence. Check (Father cut off hand, father tried to kill him many times)
2) Paranoid delusions. check (always has 'bad feeling' about things)
3) Anger problems. check (totally balls the guy out in Episode IV when he says he bullseyes womprats back home and it's not impossible to blow up death star)
4) Family Dysfunction. check (Contantly lied to about family, has to hear from overlord of the galaxy what's really going on)

Not very - A Jedi Knight may become a Master after successfully completing the the "Padawan to Knight" core curriculum classes.

Padawan is sorta like the squire below Knight. Think of the movie "Excalibur".

Actually Obi-Wan told Luke that he will need to confront his old man if he wanted to be a Jedi. Again Kenobi's jealousy was showing through on that one - because of the "chosen one" thing.

Yer comparing apples to oranges when bringing up Vader and Luke. Anakin took the Dark Side (i.e. easier path) route because he didn't like the establishment...ironically of course he went to work for the Empire.

However - you do have a point what type of idiot would turn down a chance to rule the galaxy with his dad?
