Dallas has not faired well with Golden State. I think it would be great if Golden State could beat the Clippers out for the 8th. They will probably only be one loss back after tonight.

They're going to be tied after tonight. Clippers lost at Dallas and the Warriors have a 30 point lead over Utah in the 4th quarter.

GSW and LAC have split their season series 2-2. Not sure what the next tie breaker is. Is it conference record? If so, GSW has a three game advantage over LAC in Western Conference games.

I was hoping that the Clipps would pass the Lakers, but I doubt it. They are 2 1/2 back and play only 4 more games even though one is against LA... I don't really care who moves on because more than likely Dallas beats either in 5. I guess I'll root for Golden State just because they have had some success.

Looks pretty good for Golden State so far, maybe they just match up better?

As for them being tied..Clippers still have one less loss which is what matters the most. If they tie I would think it would go to Golden State.

Golden State plays Dallas one more time. It could be the game that decides everything. If Dallas loses that game they might be a little worried. Normally I think Dallas would want to rest their players by then but if they know they might have to play Golden State if they lose and give them momentum in the playoffs... They may want to reconsider how important the game is.

GS has four more games to play.

At Sac on Fri
Home against Min on Sun
Home with Dal on Tue
At Portland on Wed

Clippers

At Hornets on Tue
At Lakers on Thur
Home with Portland on Fri
At Sac on Sun
At Suns on Tue
Home with Hornets on Wed

Next Tue could be pretty interesting with the Warriors hosting the Mavs and the Suns hosting the Clippers.

Clippers lost again tonight, almost like they don't want to make the playoffs. I heard on the radio today that if there is a tie the Clippers win the tie breaker? I thought Golden State would because they have a better conference record.

Just looked up the tiebreaker process and found out that the second tiebreaker after head to head is record within the division. The Clippers have the advantage since they are 6-7, while GSW is 5-10.

Clippers have three more division games left (Lakers, Kings, Suns) and GSW has only one division game left (Kings).

Full tiebreakers are explained here:

I think the Clippers would match up decently enough with Dallas, if Elton Brand came to play. No guarantee of that happening, though.

Golden State is currently starting Al Harrington at center. They make me nervous at #7 because they would pound Nash into submission, but I don't think they have enough defense to give the Mavs a scare in a seven-game series.

GS is playing well and would love it if they play Dallas.

Can GS play like they did against the Suns for four games? I'm not sure anyone can shoot that well, but they are certainly a pure Don Nelson team.

GS could easily win all of their remaining four games. If Lakers go 1-3, GS will move into the 7th seed. Something to think about.

I don't want to play LAL, but I want to face GS even less. Why can't we be in the East? I'd rather GS go against Dallas since they seem to match up w/ them so well. In my dream world, LAL would fall entirely out of the playoffs, LAC would take the 7 seed, and GS would be the 8 seed. But I don't even know if thats possible.

As long as Spurs get Nuggets and we don't, I'd be happy with any of Lakers, Clippers or Warriors.

If the Suns want to avoid the Warriors at 7, all they have to do is lose a game.

On a side note, it's hard to believe that GS has not made the playoffs since their first round exit to the Suns in 1994. I remember that series, that was the first playoff series I watched. Barkley was unstoppable, and the Suns got an easy sweep. 13 years later and that is still the last playoff series GS has played. We complain constantly about the Suns shortcomings, but the Suns have only missed out on playoffs twice since then. Can you imagine being a GS fan all these years? That's gotta be hard.

Oh and btw, Lakers lose again. Friday night we have to beat the Lakers for our own sake, but if GS wins on Friday and we win, GS will tie the Lakers in the loss column for the 7th seed (Lakers hold the tie-break, so GS would still need to make up one more game).

That was the team Nellie and Webber tore apart so it's only fitting if Nellie gets us back this year.

What's really sad is Warriors fans are some of the best in the NBA. They're very knowledgeable and I think they've maintained a loyal fan base in spite of their woes.

BTW, Dallas has not beaten Golden State this year. Dallas is 0-for-4. IIRC, GS won their season series with Dallas last year, too. Neither Dallas nor Phoenix really want to face the Warriors in a 7-game series. I think GS rode Utah pretty hard, too. They just can't beat anyone else.

Dallas is 0-2 against Golden State this season with one loss coming in the third game of the year. They play again this Tuesday.

So now we have 3 teams tied in the loss column for the 7th and 8th. But I don't really care who we play in the first round. If it's GS, so be it. Trying to find the easiest first round match up is pointless, since the Spurs and Mavs will be waiting anyway. I would like to see GS play the Mavs however, if only because that will make that series interesting to watch. Mavs vs. any of the LA teams will be over too soon.

We have a game against the clips so they are the least likely to pull it off.

Golden state is one win down on the lakers with 3 games left.

Lakers have 2 games left.

Lakers have beat GSW 3 times so if it ties it goes to the lakers.

Pretty much a 50/50 if you ask me.

If we go up against GSW and dallas gets the lakers, while we go up against the spurs and dallas hits utah without krilenko this is going to be one hell of a tough title run for us. If the team plays well and doesn't lose focus we can do it though.
