Since Bruce Arians is most likely phasing out the fullback, what will happen to Sherman? Can he convert to Tight End? Will he be outright released? Please share your thoughts
He'd have a better chance playing MLB than TE. He's got more tackles in his career than receptions and carries put together lol.
If he can't be a Top 3 special teams player, he's probably not going to make the final 53-man roster. Those are the breaks.
No big deal; Anthony Sherman is the definition of a replaceable player.
After all, it's not like he was drafted ahead of OT Marcus Cannon, RB Jacquizz Rogers, and CB Richard Sherman.
Oh, wait. That's exactly what happened. Steve Keim, Super Scout.
Speaking of Steve Keim, remember how we used a draft pick on Quan Sturdivant? That was dumb.
It'll be interesting to see how the 2011 draft ends up being evaluated in another two years. Some great players in the top 3 rounds.

Can't see the need for a shot at Keim for the Sherman pick. The HC was writing the shopping list and his system called for a FB and, in this case, a solid ST's contributor. The needs have now changed.
Spending a 5th round pick on a fullback is always insanity. And the reports on draft day were that we had him rated much higher! Again, look at the guys that we had on our 120 board behind Sherman.
As the draft goes on, the more front offices and coaches rely on their scouts and personnel guys. It was widely reported that Rod Graves didn't watch tape. Do you really think that Ken Whisenhunt was scouting fullback prospects from forlorn programs in the offseason?
I certainly hope not.
If you somehow have the 120 list from that draft year, i'd love to see it. No one says that Whiz was scouting fullbacks personally, but may have expressed the desire for an upgrade. Now who is being obtuse?.
So do the Cards draft for need, or not?
Or are you saying that Anthony Sherman was appropriately rated higher than Marcus Cannon (now with the Pats), Jacquizz Rogers (now with Atlanta), and Richard Sherman (now a Pro Bowler)?
It's okay if you don't know who these guys are. Go look 'em up. They're all better than Anthony Sherman.

Thatd be a horrible sign for the future of this new regime if they part with one of our most consistent and solid players just because he doesnt fit the new scheme.
Talent is talent.
If youre any good at your job, BA, youll find a way to use him.
