I picked this up from a general NBA board. And I am just spreading the word about this.

Someone emailed Mark Cuban about having another question and answer session with the members of that board community.

I know a lot of us are fed up with the refs and NBA fans in general hate the refs.

A part of his reply included this:

what would really help you guys get me involved, would be if you started a letter and email campaign , having everyone write , email and call their local /favorite teams telling them they expect the teams to stand up to the league and do something about the officiating. That the game is being negatively impacted by the lack of quality officiating..

get a groundswell going and I will return the favor... We need our customers to force the change

thanks !

I'm sorry, but I love Mark Cuban. He really does operate his team with a fan's point of view, and although sometimes he is brash, I don't think anyone would argue that all he wants is to make the quality of the game better.

That, and make his favorite team win a ring :D

I wish the C's and other owners interacted more with fans thant just their radio call in shows

But I really don't think the refs have been quite as bad this season as seasons past.

I mean it is not only Suns games.

There were games this season when the refs screwed teams in the 4th quarter.

Like Indiana at San Antonio. San Antonio at Detroit I think and later they pretty much gave Detroit a win again.
Than the Lakers-Raptors game comes to mind.

I really don't like how little respect Shawn Marion is getting from the refs and Jake Voshkul gets almost none.

I feel like the Suns are often getting hammered with no calls by teams who have a reputation for being tough but when the Suns answer the challenge they get called for everything because they are always regarded as a soft team.

Or Phil Jackson complaining in the media and the next game the Lakers have a huge advantage at the FT-line.

What I also noticed several times this season was that Greg Popovic or Don Nelson for example weren't ejected in Suns games when they arlready had Ts and jumped on the floor and worked the officials.

That stuff happens every year with every team. It's not exclusive to 2003-2004. Besides, nothing is going to get done anyway. Cuban tried a couple years ago, and nothing happened. Why should it happen now? Especially considering how television ratings are up.

If nobody tries to change something and has your approach obviously there will never be a change.

Unfortunately not all owners have the fire of Mark Cuban and the will to change something.

A lot of people surrounding the NBA in general are simply too old I think.

Just look at Gary Bender - retire old man, retire.

Again, and I reiterate, Mark Cuban tried it before and it didn't work. It's not going to work now either.

Last time he didn't have fan support.

If you don't succeed on your first try, who says you won't on your second try?
Sorry but giving up after one try that is a bad attitude.

So why is he asking fans to support him if they want to see something happen?

I like Mark Cuban, I like what he is trying to do and is it right so I will definately try to support him to the fullest.

When a ref makes a bad call, it is not intentional. They have a split second to make the call and they try to do it fair. Often refs are usually right when they make calls. If they are wrong, it may even out throughout the game. There are a few games which could of gone the other way if it wasn't for a bad call or 2, but that will always exist. Fans just notice and like to remember the calls that go the other a lot....
