First off, McD sure does play stuff close to the sleeve. The Chandler signing came out of no-where, as have many of the moves since McD arrived. The Suns of Blanks were a screen door, our moves were regularly telegraphed well before hand. Those days are gone. I feel even more sure that some of the draft day "rumors" were either nonsense or misdirection.

A lot of the old narrative should be dead, even if we don't get Aldridge.

They clearly had a plan in mind coming into free agency. I know a lot of people have felt they have no plan... well, clearly they did.

The constant "we will never try to build a sound defense with Sarver as owner" we've heard from a few posters should be dead... very very dead. Chandler is one of the best defensive centers in the league. With Tucker, Bledsoe and him we'd have 3 of our 5 starters being very strong defensively.

Also, the idea that we were going to be a league wide pariah because of the Dragic drama (something I always found utterly ridiculous) has turned out to be utterly ridiculous.

I'm impressed Ryan McDonough developed a concrete plan to go after Aldridge in signing Tyson Chandler. It may or may not work out but he made the Suns a player. I think he is going to continue to develop as a GM.

Had a high school phys ed teacher one year that was a year long substitute. He was uncomfortable when it came time to teach sex ed. When we got there, he really didn't know what to say and just said "I suggest you boys keep it in your pants."

You should too. ******** when there there's something worthwhile.

I guessed you missed the point, huh?

Should someone just agree with all this nonsense just so you can feel comfortable?

I'm sorry, but I have as much right to express my opinion here as you do. If the mods wish to ban me, that's there choice. That's often what happens in insular, close minded places. The little, but loud, minds make the rules.

I'm expressing my opinion, nothing more.

You don't like it. Tough.

You could, if you're actually brave enough, try to discuss why the Suns were so awful last year.

Cardinals had a plan in 2012 to land Peyton Manning only to fall short. The GM and head coach were both fired the season after.

A plan is great as long as it works.

Land LaMarcus, then come ask me how McD is doing.

What you clearly are too inept to understand, nobody gives a **** about your opinion as you can't give it without sounding like a narcissistic asshat. Don't make me call your mom and get your internet privileges taken away. Where would you then see a naked woman?

I'd say the Chandler signing is definitely the best move of the McDonough era to this point. If it also brings Aldridge, it's genius, but even if it doesn't, it's well above average.

Chandler signing was an enormous overpay regardless of the cap rising but if it helps land LMA then it obviously was a home run.

I agree with you about Tyson Chandler although I thought the Suns should consider signing Robin Lopez, age 27, before the Chandler signing. From what I have read, Aldridge liked Robin Lopez as well. Anyway, the Suns made a good move to strengthen their front court. The move indeed will be genius if the Suns sign Aldridge as well. I guess the jury is still out on the Brandon Knight trade.

Lopez cannot offer what Chandler does on and especially off the court. I think this was a perfect signing. The Suns lack of leadership and maturity was expensive, bringing Chandler in at that rate is not overpayment for what he brings. I like a lot of what McD has done. Almost everything and this signing is one of the best by far IMO.

The Cards stumbled into that along with a bunch of other teams, and eeeeveryone knew they needed to make a push. I think this is different. The Suns had guys they targeted, they had a strategy to maximize their chances and they're running with it.

Like eric said, so far its a solid move, if it lands us Aldridge then its brilliant.

You have to give credit where credit is due. They had a plan. However, when it comes to evaluating the front office, the entire tenure under Sarver is fair game. That doesn't take anything away from this FA signing period one bit. Some people said that maybe the FO is finally turning the corner. Those that called it should get lots of Kudos if they pull of the LMA signing as well. If not, like others said it's still a solid move getting Chandler.

In a van...down by the river.
The signing of a nearly 33 year old T.Chandler so he can mentor a pair of knuckle heads and Alex Len, grab a few rebounds and retire here in a year or two is a nice effort. Not sure what TC has left in the tank though.

Wanted him here badly in '09 when Charlotte put him on the block and most here (and around the league)thought his gm was declining. The Suns haven't had a guy in the middle with the defensive/rebounding skill set like TC since....since....since...
It's too bad he's nearly done.

If the Chandler acquisition nets LMA then obviously it's a brilliant move.

That's all i got.

The mods are discussing his post. It is abrasive but doesn't break any board rules.

However, this response violates multiple rules.

My original post may have been abrasive in your opinion but it was actually intended somewhat as a joke. It was a true story and if you had been there you might have laughed. Actually, I'm sure you would have.

Still, there was an underlying point, as there always is with my posts. Frankly, it has to do with the original poster, and minimally with the content. The content was worthless in my opinion, but he's entitled to it.

People here have absolutely no respect for dissenting opinions. From the moment I came here, I was shouted down by those who disagreed with what I said. Like most people, I didn't take kindly to that. It's not hard to see who those people were. I clashed immediately with them. I have zero regret in saying it was Phraz, ASUchris, Elindholm and Steve. After that that it was Cheese, Klod and others. I fought with them not because of disagreement, but because of their arrogance. They know everything. Just ask them. They are never wrong.

Yes, I admit, I am also somewhat arrogant. But really not that much. I think of it as thoughtful. I'm always open to reasonable answers as to how a PG can lead a team to the 28th worst offense in the league and still be consider good.

Well, since you called me out, I guess I'll respond. If you read the board in general, you'll see that I get into strong disagreements with lots of people all of the time. What I try to do, in every case where I think it's possible, is get the discussion to focus on the reasons people think what they do.

You won't do that. Most of your posts are one-liners that say "You're a fool, because I know so," with no elaboration. Granted, you've added a bit more substance recently, but as far as I'm concerned, your reputation is made. Saying someone is wrong is fine; saying someone is wrong without backing it up with any reasons is annoying, childish, a waste of time, and very quickly ignored.

Yes, I admit, I am also somewhat arrogant. But really not that much. I think of it as thoughtful.

That may be, but until you actually share some of that thoughtfulness in your posts, you don't even rise to the level of arrogance. What you do is simple name-calling. You've probably noticed that a lot of posters, when rebutting you, make jokes about how young you must be. That is because your behavior reminds us of when we were in second grade, and a popular retort was "I know you are, but what am I?"

This board is a remarkably forgiving community. I personally have given up on you, but you aren't interested in my voice anyway, so we can just stay out of each others' way. As for the rest, if you can learn how to base your posts on content rather than on an infatuation with your perceived superiority, my guess is you'll find a willing audience, and even some engaged discussion partners.

Well you are running a thin line between option and just being a troll. Personal attacks on this board warrant bans.
