My wife , son, and I are going to New Orleans this year. This will be the boys 18th different stadium to see the Cards play in.

Did you ever have any bad experiences with opposing fans over the years (especially when your boy was young)? I have thought about taking my son to away games when he gets a bit older but always worry about some ******* opposing teams fan ruining the day

The only stadium I've had issues in where Dallas & Philly, although i would never step foot inside the Black Hole or SF. Bite your tongue & be friendly, but most fans are pretty cool IMO. Had some great conversations with fans in KC, Minny & GB the last 3 years.

I had a drunk Ravens fan spit on my then 6 yr old son. What pursued wasn't pretty. Needless to say, I hate the Ravens more than any other professional team in any sport.

Philly isn't as bad as it used to be. The Vet days were brutal for any opposing fan. I've been cursed at and have had beer thrown on me but not while I was looking. I didn't dare wear Cardinal colors in NY but I did see others. The thing is don't be obnoxious. I've seen Dallas fans get beat up in Philly and believe me, they deserved it.

Oh, that said, if I'm able to get my sunday's and Monday's off again I'll be at the Philly game in December.

Being I live in Gainesville Florida, I'll be at both the Tampa and Jacksonville game. Can't wait.

Nashville this year.

I had a drunk lady grab me by my Fitz shirt a couple years ago at St. Louis as we were walking out. She slurs, "You just like the Cardinals cause of Kurt!" This was the game where Leinart played most of the second half, IIRC.

My wife got in her face and went off about how I grew up in Arizona and have been rooting for the Cardinals since I was a kid. It was awesome.

That is surprising. My wife and kids and I all wear our jerseys and have never had any episode like that, even riding the metro. The Rams fans all said they missed Kurt Warner in St Louis.

We've never really had a problem. We used to have problems with opposing fans at the old SDS though, when we had season tickets. We were always out numbered in our own town. I guess the worst I've ever had it was in Green Bay. But mostly just drunkin' idiots getting stupid. Far more good times with other teams fans then bad ones.

For sure, I still have your phone number. Where you staying and what day you coming in? We are staying at The Omni in the French Quarter, right off Bourbon Street. We'll be there Friday afternoon.

I would love to go to New Orleans. It's one place that I have never been that I would really like to visit.

I just don't know if we're going to be able to make it. In fact, it's doubtful. I hope to make the game in Tampa and, if everything works out, Jacksonville. Not very likely to make a game out in Arizona either. But......you never know.

This looks like it's going to be a fun season to watch. Even if the Cards struggle to win games, I think they will be entertaining, which can't be said for the last couple years.

My impression of Philly fans from the one game I attended was that there was an unusually high proportion of females there - a surprisingly large number with excessive facial hair.

During all those years going to Giant games (sticking out like a sore thumb in Cardinal gear), I never experienced a single negative incident.

I am going to try to make it to the St. Louis game. The last I went to watch them in St. Louis they went to the Super Bowl. That was when Waynecard and Arizona Elvis got a bunch of tickets for the board.

I went to the playoff game against the Saints. Except for maybe a couple goof-balls, everyone treated me very well. I had people go out of their way thank me for coming because they really need our tourist dollars to help rebuild the city after Katrina. Not a soul gave me any trouble in the stadium. Got to meet up with Zeno, DiehardCardfan and a couple more whose names escape me the moment. Other than the outcome of the game, it was a great trip.
