I was more talking about his football life. that's the topic at hand and that was the biggest moment of his football life EASILY up to that point in his career and to try and if it WASN'T then that only speaks volumes as to what kind of player he is. Seriously, if winning to go to the Super Bowl, especially after never winning anything for his entire NFL career, wasn't the biggest moment of his football life, then I don't know what can be.

Understood, though I wasn't singling you out--there are a lot of fans who dislike him for what he did. Justifiably so perhaps.

It goes beyond the NFC Championship tantrum and leaving before the celebration...didn't he wear his jersey just around his neck or rolled up or with just one arm through it or something to practice as a "sign of protest"? Just childish crap.

My memory is a little fuzzy but I seem to recall he did that when he got his framed Pro Bowl jersey at Fan Fest.

Or was that 9-0? Someone did it. NOT Larry, lol. Larry doesn't pull that stuff, thank goodness.

If it wasn't somehow personal to Boldin and a slight to the Cardinals and their fans, there simply would not exist a poster like this one. And the notion that Boldin isn't responsible for his own image/publicity is nonsensical. This is what he chooses to have broadcasted out to any and all fans of the Niners, the Cardinals and Boldin.

That said, I don't really give flip. The take away from Boldin is if you a fan of any team, don't get too wrapped up in any player. Its just business to them. None of these guys are looking out for anyone but number one.

My theory: at the very heart of the matter is this-- shortly after establishing himself as a bonfire star WR, the Cards went out and drafted Fitz and paid him more.

Instead of him being the "Guy", he had to share it. And the fact that even after re-doing his deal, Fitz's re-do ended up paying him more.

That playoff run, Fitz elevated his play and was all the talk. Boldin was considered Robin to Fitz's Batman.

So the contract talk was simply the tangible manifestation of Boldin feeling disrespected by the organization --

On the surface -- that poster almost seems to say " hey Cards, you thought I was done-- look how wrong you were". But it was Boldin who demanded to be traded.

What that poster really says is " compare my stats to the guy you preferred".

It's petty, petty along the lines of walking out on a NFC Champ celebration.

Great player but the facts are indisputable: we played better as a team without Anquan during those Warner years because it allowed us to focus on Fitz who was and is the superior player. His juvenile tantrum during the NFC Championship game I'm not as pissed about as some because it was versus Todd Haley who is a certifiable nutjob. However no reason he should have behaved as he did after the game when he should have been with his teammates.

And it was the right decision - Fitz is the better player by a wide margin. The only reason Anquan's stats are even close was due to the clown car collection of QB's throwing Fitz the ball during the latter half of the prime of his career.

I have spoken to a number of niner fans who give me a hard time because he is playing for 700k there and wouldn't play here anymore and wanted Fitz money. They are saying he will sign there for that kind of money again, I told them they are delusional. He is all about himself and wants to get paid. We'll see.

Where are you getting your info? Boldin was traded because he was due 6 + million dollars this season. The Ravens weren't willing to pay that and SF was so your 700,000 # you are throwing out is completely wrong.

49ers salaries this season

Not only is Q not getting paid scraps.. He is the second highest paid player on the team.. Only 72k less than Vernon Davis..

And he is getting paid a million more than Fitz this year..

I was mistaken when I said he was cut here is a quote.

Boldin was understandably ticked about being asked to take less money from the Ravens his 2013 salary is 6 million he was traded for a 6th rd pick

"When I signed with the Ravens, I signed for four years," Boldin said Saturday. "With me, it's all about principles. At no point, no matter how well I played, would I come back to the table and say, 'I need more money.'

"The contract that I signed was the contract that I intended to play out."

But yet he cried twice here for more money

dude left the field without celebrating an NFC-FREAKING-TITLE, shunning his teammates for his flipping agent. That said everything to me I ever needed to know about Q.

great player...and a monumental idiot.

Well said and spot on.

Did he say that? If so he's a bigger dirt bag than I thought.

Twice? He was given a reworked rookie contract on the teams own accord.

Then after a couple years into that contract he was unhappy true. But the team promised him another one and continually stated that he was a core player that would be taken care of.

They offered him a new contract that was a supreme slap in the face they only offered to up his salary(none of which is guaranteed) and no signing bonus. No player in their right mind or an agent would accept such a deal and IS AN INSULT! Thats what made him bitter and rightfully so IMO. That was the SOP for the cheap Cards. Thank god it seems we've gotten past that.

Yep. Thats why I just balk at people who give him **** for the comment that he was a Raven for life and would retire.

Well anyone with any thought capability knows that he meant if he was cut due to his salary which was all salary and not bonus. Thus He would have been a FA and probably due to age have to sign like a 1 to 2 million dollar contract and in his mind that probably wasn't worth it and would retire a Raven rather than pay elsewhere.

But instead he was traded and told by the 49ers that they had no problem paying him over 6 million in salary. So who the hell would walk away from that? Not many I know of. Especially with no nagging health issues that he's dealing with. Add the fact that they were certified SB contender and it was a no brainer. Don told it against him as a person it was a smart decision.

He suddenly got principles in Baltimore

Does that make the cards anymore the bad guy ?

No not in that instance no. That was the right thing to do. But way to ignore the bupkus offer they tried to give him the 2nd time around. It was a slight anyway you slice it. It pissed him off and he was bitter ever since. Didn't help matters that the HC Whiz stuck his nose into it and tried to tell Boldin to take that offer. Im a Whiz supporter and that guy had no business medaling in those affairs.

They shouldn't even have had to deal with his BS. His quote from when he was in Baltimore spells it out clear as day. Not my opinion HIS WORDS !

Do you have a link to the bupkus offer the Cards made, I cant find anything about them ever offering another contract before trading him?
