Do you have a link to the bupkus offer the Cards made, I cant find anything about them ever offering another contract before trading him?

Im not going to search for it since it would be about 7 or 8 years old but feel free. It was talked on this board repeatedly at the time. Many thought he should just take it And other knew that it was a slap in the face and didn't blame him.

They shouldn't even have had to deal with his BS. His quote from when he was in Baltimore spells it out clear as day. Not my opinion HIS WORDS !

So what? That was 5 or 6 years later. In a completely different situation. Before he was still in his prime and in his opinion outplaying his contract especially when you look at his production next to fitz. To try and compare the two is quite simply ludicrous. You may find this hard to believe but people opinions over the years do change ;)

It was 3 years. Look he just wanted out because he was being over shadowed by Fitz. He got his way and it worked out for him. He can hold his grudge and I will hold mine

He played for the Ravens for 3 seasons this season is over with Niners and his contract grudge started at least 3 season before he left so no it has not been 3 years.

And you are absolutely free to be a hypocrite and and hate him for doing the same thing you are doing now. :)

I have zero recollection of this bubkis offer Shane's talking about with no guaranteed money.

and that Baltimore statement which I hadn't previously seen just continues to bolster my personal notion that Q is an idiot...and a hypocrite. He says he was promised something...who knows if that's true or if that was his agent whispering in his ear to try and get himself traded or whatever the hell he was doing.

hey, i'd take him back in a second. he'd be a great slot guy for this offense. wouldn't change my opinion that he's an idiot though. that has nothing to do with his skills on the field.

I referenced it here in 2008 post # 23:

Evil Ash posted a quote here that an offer was made but hadent yet been made public what the offer was.

Im still looking but could take quite a bit of time cosidering im on my phone #1 and this crap is 5+ years old and its hard to wade through it all. IIRC it was leaked by someone like Jurecki what the offer actually was.

so...none of the above backs up the "bubkis" offer story Shane. Just differing reports whether offers/promises were even made, with one of those reports actually saying it would pay Boldin top 5 WR within three years (whatever that means).

Just showing that it was talked about on here 5 yeard ago. Something you say you dont remember. Im looking for something more solid it didnt come out of thin air it was reported. But damn my search capabilities suck 5 months ago much less 5+ years. :)

Something to keep in mind: for the Cards to tear up his contract for the second time within his first five years in the league would be unprecedented-- not just for the Cards, but for the entire NFL. Specifically-- Q was asking the Cards to do something that had never been done. That kind of renegotiation isn't going to be the kind that gives the player all that they want-- particularly when Q had just cashed a big bonus check and first year salary just 18 months prior.

Loved Q when he was here but I didn't mind the trade at the time cause I thought he'd fall off physically. Turns out he didn't but I'm not changing the way I felt at the time.

Where are you getting your info? Boldin was traded because he was due 6 + million dollars this season. The Ravens weren't willing to pay that and SF was so your 700,000 # you are throwing out is completely wrong.

So how much did SF pay this year?

Yep , had to JG , if you will remember Terry had a habit of carrying the ball like it was a loaf of bread , and fumbling in those situations.

I heard something about that, I was too busy just running straight down the field all by my little lonesome doing that TD thang and was never close enough to the line of scrimmage to know the details...you where John Riggins in Cardinal red for sure man...wish we had a freaking defense lol

I'm being serious, I think it might happen..

I would love to see it happen, but have to wonder if its at all possible.

I attended his Q foundation kids football camp in 2004 or 2005. It was the summer he missed some of the previous season due to a knee injury. He had the camp at Glendale HS, and had about 20-30 of those kids from the surrounding neighborhood in it. He and the Packers #1 at the time were on the practice fields with their shirts off playing backyard football with these kids. If you were driving by, you would have thought nothing about it. I got invited there to talk about "being a winner" and making the right choices in life. I'm just some fireman, and Q wanted the kids to hear the message from other people besides an NFL WR. There was no fan fare, banners, media, or anything; just him spending an entire Saturday coordinating the entire event himself, with the help of a few guys in the league.

You guys that say Q is selfish, Q is a crybaby, Q puts himself in front of the team… You guys don't know ****. You know what the Cardinals marketing department wanted you to hear. The guy is highly, highly, highly respected throughout the league. Everybody on his teams have thought the world of him. How many guys have gone before him saying the some of the same things about the Cardinal organization? Forever this organization has sucked and was ran like a day hire company. IMO, he pretty much kept his mouth shut while letting his dissatisfaction be known. He played hard until the day he left; what more could you want?

I would love to see him be brought back a Cardinal, but I think there are many many parts to make that scenario a reality. I would welcome him back in a second.
