I've stashed mine at the very back of my closet.

Too embarrassed to wear around, especially in a city with a real NFL team (Seattle) ...

I lined my cat's litter box with them, and the cat won't even take a dump on them.

Yeah, I'm wearing one now. I've never equated the teams I root for to my own personal worth or self-esteem. Nobody ever gives me a hard time. But, I'm a fairly big guy.

Still wearing them. What the hell's the difference? This isn't my first rodeo with these Cardinals. Wore Cards stuff through buddy ball, through the nightmare 2000 season, the Jeff Blake jauggernaut of 03. I'm not stopping now. Get us through through the end of the year so we can see another firing on the day after the season and then we can start debating who the new coach should be. Its just the cycle of life down here at the bottom of the NFL.

I wore mine last night with pride. Call me a glutton of punishment.

"pride" implies there's something to be proud of. what exactly are you proud of when you wear their colors?

Best I can explain it Cheese is for you to watch the Band of Brothers saga....it basically is a we have all been thru the same thing with this team and Ownership...for good or bad and have stuck with it..and share the same fate or misery....for good or bad...no bandwagon here....the colors stay on regardlesss...I wear it unless I am wearing the baseball teams colors...My Hummer wears it unless it has the STL logo on it....there is a connection and good or bad we live it. It's why we tailgate and why we have this identity one and all Cards Fans. Don't wish for it to be the way it is..all the losing and stuff...but we are enduring it....Real Fans do it...why do the Cubs fans root for the Cubs??? Same here...only in football...losing ain't loveable but it doesn't mean we do not have pride.

So, it's more of a fan thing, than a I support the team, kind of thing?

My initial question wasn't to blast wearing team colors. I've just always wondered what the phrase was all about... it seems more about your fellow fan, rather than the actual team, which makes sense when you put it that way. There's no pride in saying "I support the Bidwills" IMO, but there is pride in saying I support all the other people, like myself, who subject ourselves to mind/heart numbing pain every single week.

I was saying yesterday that the Cardinals can't run and hide from there Karma. We as fans have to keep on keeping on until they get it balanced. That is going to be awhile...but it will happen. We both have to support each other and honor that we will be there when they do get it right. So yes, pride in knowing that there is a great support group and you aren't the only mohican on the reservation, and thru the colors we wear we know this and have faith the balance will come. Should we hope for any less? I think not.

Wear my Arizona Cardinals gear proudly. I just wish the players would do the same.

Rats, I really don't think we should HOPE for anything, to be honest with you. I think the very essence of "hope" is that there is SOMETHING that tells you things will be okay... things will change and to be honest, there's just nothing in the grand scheme of things that leads me to believe this.

I cheer for one reason and one reason only - they play within the lines that make up the border for my state. I cheer for Arizona, but I see no reason to to hope for anything more. All hope does is bring your expectation up, only to get crushed. I'd ratheer go in believing... no... knowing we're going to stink to high heaven and be pleasantly surprised... nay... shocked when I'm wrong.

Well, that is one way to go, but for me I want to believe there is the balance that I was talking about. The Yen and Yang thing that gets it all back to where it is equal. You have to create that and BB hasn't done that for the fans. He has tried more now with the new stadium but even with that huge gesture, his bad Karma is still not balanced. You said that Matt was the only hope at one time and I think he is still a big part of the balance that has to happen. Yes fans had high expectations that are going down in flames but we are not sweating our ass off on metal bleachers while we witness it so somethings gives us a good feeling about being there, the great thing is we will get to try again next year, and the diehards like us will be sucked in again trying to understand why we do it, even though we really already know.

I am not sure how to even answer this question. I dont know why I am a fan of the Cardinals and have been since about 85' when at the age of 16, and just starting to get into football, liked their red unifroms. Had no ties to St Louis and until I had family move to phx later on had no ties to phx either. (I did eventually end up living there for 6 years though)

My friends are Jets, Cowboys, Steelers fans and they ask me why I support this team. I dont have a logical answer to that. But I know when I ask them why they support their teams they dont have a logical answer either. It is something engrained that I nor any truly passionate fan can explain.

Is it logical? Of course not. We, in essence, are supporting a corporation with a state/city affiliation. Players come and go. But once it is engrained, and you have it in you, it is impossible to let go. I could never support another team. (Although after the Bears game I told myself my new favorite team was the Falcons and the Cards can F$%k off-that lasted about 12 hours)

I guess if you dont have it it is hard to understand. And it is impossible to explain in a logical sense, so trying to explain to someone who doesnt 'get it' comes out as insane.....

Me too.

Don't let the team's lousy performance drag you down and turn you into fair weather fans who leave the stadium early or jump off the bandwagon during adversity.

Sports would be boring if the outcomes were always predictable. If you're upset about paying all that money on tickets, parking etc. only to be bummed out because the Cards aren't winning, it's a lot cheaper to invest in a Madden 2007 and setting the player ratings so that the Cardinals always win.

I'm sadder that fans are quitting on the Cards' than I am the losses themselves.
