Look, if we’re going to win the conference, we have to be prepared to face and defeat any one of the other seven playoff teams. Worrying about matchups is silly.

then I guess you don't need to comment any more about this silliness! :)

right, so he scores 1 point more a game, yet his rebounding numbers plummet (yes, rebounding 2 less per is plummetting), and every other stat of his goes down (shooting percentage, assists, blocks) and in all his years, he could never muster even one performance good enough to lead his team (twice a 50 game winner) to even a single victory. Yeah, that's a guy I'd call a no-show to the playoffs. Would say the same thing about Shawn Marion, who pretty much did the same thing. Dude's just S-O-F-T.

That's not a "no-show" no matter how you slice it. His numbers are roughly even, other than scoring and boards.

BTW, he isn't leading a team anymore. He isn't doubled anymore. Grizz time is history.

There’s a big difference between having to be “the man” in the playoffs vs. being a complementary player in the playoffs. A little trouble in the first role doesn’t mean he can’t handle the second role.

a player's who's numbers go down across the board (and significantly in one area) is a playoff no-show as far as I'm concerned. I consistently hold ALL players to the same standard and when you're a "star" and you can't even match your regular season numbers, that says something (and that doesn't just apply to Lakers... you know I used to KILL Shawn Marion for the same kind of crap).

BTW, he isn't leading a team anymore.

Gee, thanks for the update. You're right, his soft-euro ass is just sitting out weeks in the middle of a pressure-packed playoff race because he's got a boo-boo on his ankie.

He isn't doubled anymore. Grizz time is history.

Hornets will be our worst matchup. Theres no one in the Suns who can limit Chris Paul to 20/10..... he'd put up 30/15 against the Suns.
The amount of shooters will also extend the defense out making penetration giving Stoudemire, Diaw and O'Neal a lot of pressure.

Jazz is another bad matchup. Okur, as I've stated a lot, Kills the Suns by his shooting. Williams being so big and pretty darn good, well he will get his way. Not even accounting Boozer, Brewer, Millsap, Harpring who always play physical and gives Suns fits as the Suns DO NOT play physical back.
But there is hope... Stoudemire and O'Neal must more than neutralize Jazz's front court to have a good shot at beating them.

Spurs, well, the Suns matchup well now with these guys, it'll come down to execution. Spurs are the best in terms of chemistry and execution... and are the best team come playoffs. But I think the Suns have a good chance of being in the game every game...

Lakers, interesting that it can either be a real bad matchup or the same as Spurs as the Suns can stay and play with them competitively and with Stoudemire the best source of freethrow attempts as he is very aggressive inside, the Suns will need to rely on him a lot... and O'neal.... of course Nash needs to step up scoring to attract defense to him and allow less pressure on Bell, Hill etc.

The rest... I feel the Suns can beat in a 7 game series, due to the Suns having a better approach inside and out.

As of right now:
  • If the Suns win the rest of their games (6-0) they are guaranteed to finish ahead of the Spurs and Rockets in the standings (and secure home court vs. Jazz)
  • For the Suns to finish ahead of the Lakers, the Lakers have to lose at least two of their remaining games (4-2)
  • For the Suns to finish ahead of the Hornets, the Hornets have to lose at least four of their remaining games (3-4)
