I say no because--according to our offense--we aren't even clicking on all cylinders yet. I can't wait until we really start running it up.

I want to run it up on Seattle. That will feel real nice.

Here's what stuck out to me today: in the 2nd half, when the game was WELL in hand, we continued to play our "normal" suffocating defense. You didn't see any 3-man rush/8 dropping deep BS like many teams (including apparently Pittsburgh last week, when Kap ran up big numbers after the game was out of reach). We stuck to the plan. And lo and behold, instead of a bunch of cheap yardage and points, we gave up SQUAT - we were just as tough to move the ball on as the first quarter. LOVE that about BA. "No cruise control" as Larry would say. And as it should be.

For only being 3 games in, this season is sure feeling special already. And I don't mind saying it out loud.

Good to see Bettcher keep the pedal down. Can't stand the prevent D that let's the other walk down the field and score to eat up the clock. Go with what got you there. That's how you finish a game.

Yeah I never understood the concept of changing what you did to get the lead with the expectation of keeping it. Seems like backwards thinking to me.

I'm so enjoying the thread title:

"Are we guilty of running it up?"

Has anyone ever thought this would be a Cardinals topic?

I remember watching a Patriot game a couple years ago where they had Brady in still throwing bombs when they were up by 40 (kind of like yesterday) - and wishing "Why can't the Cards finish off teams like this?".

So to answer the question "Are we guilty?"

Heck yes and I love it!

San Fran ran up 55 points on us in 2003. Seattle beat us 58 to 0 in 2012. Pretty sure the rule is that if the defense can't stand up for itself, then all bets are off. As it should be.

In that SF game, they were up 36-0 going into the 4th quarter and still scored two more TD's. Garcia played the whole game.
