Are we over-reacting or is QB a problem?

LOL....3 and out after 3 and out, great field position, INT resulting in a short field, that has an effect on a defense cheese. Defense sucks, but there is a reason why I am not overly concerned about the defense.

The defense is fixable. They can be good. They have talent. Derek doesn't have either and that is why the QB is a much, much, bigger problem. Derek was a joke in week one and the defense was great. Derek is a joke and our team is going to struggle as long as he is ran out there.

Remember when Leinart wasn't given the C on his jersey a few years back and everyone flipped? Why wasn't it brought up when the ADD QB wasn't given the C?

DA is the WORST starter in the history of the Phoenix/ Arizona Cardinals. This is a much bigger issue than anyone wants to admit.

btw, the D, with all that talent, didn't make the falcons punt until the 4th quarter. and they only punted ONCE all game. even a tired defense gets to 2 punts.

Just ask yourself if DA makes anyone on the team better or if he has done anything as of yet to help the team. If not, he is garbage. If Whiz sticks with him the season is lost.

i don't think anyone is arguing that derek anderson is anything other than horsecrap. but where does whis go now? max hall? 1 - 2, 1 yard, 1 int, undrafted rookie free agent, undersized, somewhat undistinguished career at byu, moxie guy???? there ARE NO ANSWERS at qb for this team. c'mon #1 pick!

I am certainly not happy about Derek Anderson as the Cardinals starting QB. I think Whisenhunt made a mistake in his choice of Anderson over Leinart; better yet why wasn't another QB brought in during the offseason?

The D without question did not play well, but to be fair when your on the field the entire game and the offense sucks so bad they keep giving the falcons the ball with good field position what do you expect? Honestly the whole team looked like CRAP and that falls on the HC! How is this team not ready to play after barely winning the season opener the coaching staff should have had them ready to play and clearly they were not ready hence the pathetic showing and insane amount of penalties!!!!

you still haven't answered why you think the D gets a pass despite letting the falcons march the ball right down their throat for a score on the opening drive. the D sucked from the get go and didn't get any help from the O. luckily mike smith took multiple knees at the end of the game rather than further humiliating the D. which they already did to themselves.

btw, in the steelers-falcons game the week before i seem to remember the steelers not scoring all game too, but somehow their defense continued to play great. must be because they didn't start derek anderson.

They don't get a pass, but they played very well against a bad Rams team...so they have at least shown they can play well vs a bad opponent as opposed to DA who has been horse **** vs the good, bad, and ugly.

the penalties was BY FAR the most galling thing about yesterday. Against BAD teams, I expect DA to be just below or right at mediocre, I expect the D to be okay and against good teams, I expect DA and the D to both be atrocious BUT one thing we should DEMAND is that a team with such a razor thin margin for error has DISCIPLINE. This team had none of it yesterday and that is on coaching.

I love Wiz to death but whatever small chinks he had in his armor the last couple years that I was okay with because we were winning are starting to get a lot bigger.

Certainly not me. How does a defending 2-year conference champion in a crappy division let itself get in this state? Releasing Leinart the week before the season starts was one of the Cardinal's dumbest moves ever (and that's difficult to achieve considering history). Not that Leinart was that great mind you, but you don't throw out your last can of tomato soup when all you have left in the cupboard is chicken broth.

DA is the kind of QB you want as a second string quarterback. He has always had the issues he is showing now. I don't portend to be a talent evaluator but common sense said he was not going to be the answer...the big question which I would really love to get an honest answer about...at what point did KW realize that ML was not going to be the answer....did it take all winter through the preseason??

And yeah, DA stunk it up. Which puts him statistically ( http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/ ) and practically on par with the list of other sucky QB's listed earlier on this thread.
