On the road, on the East Coast--that pushes it to their favor.

Yep...add in that it will be chilly.

we won't even get off the plane. super no-show against a terrible team. It will be hard to watch, but it's coming.

i love ya shane, but you're an idiot for wanting another w.

Nope. I always want to win. No matter what. Unlike you guys who can shut it off and not watch or "waste your time" on them I just can't. I enjoy watching them win or lose. I just much prefer winning. OBVIOUSLY!

My hope which has a very very very very low chance of happening is that Skelton goes out and shows in the next 4 weeks that he has what it takes to be a 1a QB in this league. If he does than we are likely winning at least 2 of the next 4.

You guys act as though you are rooting for them to lose on Sundays. Not me my friend no way no how.

I have to agree with Shane here. I want to see a win from this team even if it knocks us down a spot or two in the draft. There are no guarantees in the draft and it's rarely a good thing to be stuck near the top where your forced to overpay. Plus, I want my team to win - every time they take the field. And if they can't win, then I want them to at least show improvement and win a half, or a period, or a series.

My week goes a lot better when my Sunday doesn't suck.

Normally you also want your team to finish strong to carry over that winning momentum into the next season.

But sadly momentum and the Cardinals never seem to go together. In fact its just the opposite.

Have a huge play in their favor. Means nothing.

For example Tim Hightower has had an 80 yard TD run and a 70 yard TD run in the first half of two games in his career. The Cards lost those games 41-7 and 45-14.

Biggest play in Cardinal history, Fitz' 64 yard TD in the SB and the defense falls down and the Cards lose.

At face value ? Yes.

But we are going to play the Broncos (pretty bad), and the Panthers (really bad) in the next few weeks.

If we played the Bungles this year then we would know without a doubt, but the Panthers and Broncos will prove/disprove how great our suckatude is.

Reading the debate here raises one obvious question. If you were the owner of the team would you be content with the GM and HC? A new owner would quickly replace them.

I don't think that a new owner would replace Whizenhunt. I think that he would replace Graves with a GM who had more control of personnel. Find out what kind of team that the coach wanted then the GM decides who the players are. Holmgren wasn't as successful in Seattle until a GM with power came in. Up until that point he was making all of the decisions.

When is the last time that winning these meaningless games cost us anything?

Funny,

I went back and looked and it really hasn't cost us much. Its the lack of development and keeping the first round guys past their first contract letting them go for nothing that has hurt us.

However, there is the argument that the Vikings win in '03 cost us Rivers or Manning but I still think that Green trades down and takes Fitz anyway.

Here's another example: The 2006 team at 2-9 wins 3 of their last 5. Cards pass on Adrian Peterson to draft Leonard Davis Jr.

I agree with your point about Fitz but even then, we could have had Rivers or the Rapist. IMO they are both better QBs than Eli.

I'm not ready to fire Whiz yet, just limit his duties. He's not a good OC, that much is certain. But the reason why I'm not ready to give up on him is because once upon a time, we had 4 seasons in a row where we didn't have a losing season('74-'77) and the coach was fired after the '77 season when we went 7-7. It took us 5 years to recover, then we had another period of growth, '82-'84 then had a losing season and the HC was fired. It took us 14 years to recover from that. Then we had 1 good year, fired that coach 2 years after that, and didn't recover until 2007. Point is, I'm tired of starting from scratch and taking years to recover. The Eagles stuck with Reid through thick and thin and look at their success rate. Same with Fischer. And look at Jacksonville. They've had 2 coaches in their history and have been pretty good. We need to stick with a HC for a while, just give him a better supporting staff.

I think I draw the line somewhere above this. I'd much prefer to lament lost opportunities that do not involve rapists. I don't care if the guy is the greatest player to have ever played the game - I couldn't stomach cheering for the guy on gameday.

Fine. We aren't picking him (even though he wasn't flagged as a problem at the time). Could we or could we not have gotten a QBOF even though we won a meaningless game?

Could have. Could have drafted Tom Brady. But he would have ended up a punter.

Crap.

Both of us are that high on him. Means we will miraculously draft him, and he'll bust. :bang:

If we do get him get ready for all the "Luck of the draw", "Cardinals have Luck on their side" and then if your bad feeling in the pit of your stomach bust belief comes true "Luck wasn't with the Cardinals" or simply "Bad Luck"

I wasn't suggesting you were on the prowl for a rapist quarterback. You just gave me a chance to get up on my high horse and I hadn't taken a ride for a few days. As for getting a QBOF by jockeying for draft position, I think that's much easier to do in hindsight than in reality.

The Cards passed up Adrian Peterson to take Levi, Leonard Davis, Brown. Do you really think they would have drafted either one of those guys?

No way. They were taking Fitz. And if they hadn't taken Fitz they would have drafted RaShaun Woods.
