being unhappy with Palmer does not equal going after romo.... that equation does not add up.

being unhappy with Palmer more equally equates to doing whatever is necessary to get the best possible QB in the next draft.......a bandaid for this season is a waste of time, we need to set ourselves up for the future..

also, if it were me..I would just cut Floyd today...our offense is not clicking for whatever reason but it does not help that whenever the chips are down Floyd is on a different page of the playbook...

Draft:
QB
WR
OT/OG
ILB

Fitz is getting older, Floyd is...hell I dunno what is up with Floyd
John Brown lost his "IT" factor(not to mention Palmer trying to force balls to Brown has equated to about half of our turnovers the past two seasons), and JJ cant play the deep half of the field by himself.

I thought Floyd was on IR.

If you want to go after a qb I would go after Matt Stafford
Mike in reality isn't a reality. But I guess dreaming is free. There's not a chance that the best QB in Lions history in the last 50 years leaves Detroit unless he's traded & that won't happen in the next 5-7 years if at all

A Cardinal fan since 1960's and I am so over and out with Palmer. He is slow, holds the ball way to long, and he zeros in on one receiver.
Time for the Cards to move on.
You do realize that no matter who the QB is, Arians will have him hold the ball for longer than normal...it's his offense.

Oh it would have to be a trade, everyone has a price. Detroit is not going anywhere in a hurry. I am not saying it wouldn't be costly, but he is the only one I can see that would help us.

The thing about Palmer is---he's not a good deep passer---which is a pre-requisite in a vertical passing game. And if you are going to run so many zero (spread) formations, you needs a mobile QB to escape pressure otherwise you are toast.

On both counts, the argument can be made that Palmer is not a good fit for the offense.

NO protection= NO time=NO chance!

Should've kept poundin' on the ground.

Mark :)

Carson isn't to blame for this mess but he's not the only QB that has to deal with an inept OL. Guys like Luck, Wilson, Rivers etc deal with it keep their INT% significantly lower. Again not blaming Palmer but not completely letting him off the hook either.

Our creativity has been terrible on offense all season. You can tell what we are doing as soon as we line up and the defense can as well! The vikes showed us today a little creativity and different looks can help a lot but our coaching staff seems to think our system is the ONLY one, very frustrating we put ourselves in holes consistently!

Extensions mean nothing in the NFL just spreading salary, can cut and run most contracts at anytime. With that being said Palmer is the least of this teams concerns! Still one on the best players on the field on offense!

Fix the OL, and we had injuries this year to top it off. Palmer is good for another season in my opinion but the only way we get our QB is drafting. Raiders, Cowboys, Titans where able to do it, but you just have to find the guy and still get lucky... but it is highly possible to find him

Palmer isn't the reason this team is imploding! O-line and STs is flat out killing this team!

Correct. Specifically the pass protection regarding the oline. It's been pretty bad this year.

But honestly, it does appear that maybe palmer has lost a step (so to speak). He's still not bad though. If you dump him, you better not bring in the 2017 equivalent of Jeff Blake. If you can't bring in a top flight QB, you ride or die with him in 2017. If we draft a QB in the first round this next draft, great, but we STILL better ride Palmer through at least the first half of 2017. Don't throw the new kid to the wolves.

This X100. Can't take another John Skelton, Ryan Lindley Jeff Blake ect year. Its so hard to watch. Draft a QB high, get some OL help, and run Palmer out until it gets bad.

There is no chance Washington trades Cousins(or lets him go in FA). There is no chance that Detroit lets Stafford walk either. I know dreaming is free, but it's just not going to happen. Romo is a hell no. Why on earth would there even be a rumor about him coming here. Romo is glass and wouldn't want to risk big money or picks for him. I'd rather stick with Palmer.

So to me, here's the deal with Palmer. Yeah he makes bone headed plays, but he did those same bone headed palys last year, and yet he was a MVP candidate. He was also able to make alot more great plays last year because he had time, he had receivers running the right routes, and he had play makers. This year, there are only 2 that are doing anything on offense, DJ and Fitz. You can't do much when your player makers from last year, Brown, Nelson, and Floyd, aren't play well.

I also think Palmer knew what he had in his Oline before the season started. It got to him mentally and we can see what its doing to him on the field. He's been scared back there and has had 0 time to make a pass or is trying to hard to make something happen and holds the ball to long. If he was just a little mobile, like Rogers, then you would see better play from him and the line, but he's not. He needs Cowboys line to do what he does best. Not the Cards line.

This years cards team is not on Palmer. I bet if he had all his WRs at 100% and had a better line, we wouldn't be here complaining about him.
