With all the Qb “controversy” on this site it got me wondering.
I don’t get to watch a lot of college football, in fact hardly any until bowl time.
The pundits paint a picture of where these qb’s rank. By the time the draft gets here rankings change. Opinions change. We will hear them described as smart, strong arm, accuracy problems, leadership, a product of a college offense, blah, blah , blah.
Player A threw for 4000 yards 28 td’s and 6 int’s but doesn’t have an NFL arm.
Player B threw for 4000 yards 27 td’s and 4 int’s but played in a weak conference.
Player C threw for 2600 yards 21 td’s and 8 int’s but can create problems with his legs.
Purdy was drafted in the 7th round and is pretty good. Does Brady have to be mentioned? I know these guys are an anomaly. So I ask.
What about Clayton Tune. Can he be an NFL qb? Does this staff truly believe he can lead this team? Is he better than bringing in a guy like Fields, Rudolph or Pickett?
He’s big enough. He can run a little. His college stats were quite impressive. So why not? What does he lack. Arm strength? Smarts? Opportunity?
Could/does this staff REALLY feel Tune can step in should Kyler fall on his face in 2025 and be our starting qb moving forward?
I truly respect the opinions of about 90% of the contributors on this board even when I don’t agree. I’d love to hear your opinions on why or why not Tune can/could be the guy.
