It’s getting colder here in Florida too. Barely get into the 70s today. At least you don’t have to shovel humidity.
As a teenager growing up in rural Illinois I used to love a fresh snowfall. I would grab my .410 over & under & take my Bassett hound & just go on a walk about in the woods behind our house. Maybe shoot a few squirrels for dinner. Growing up with an abusive step dad I loved the solitude of the woods. For some reason the cold never bothered me then. Also 35° in Illinois doesn't feel as cold as 35° in Az. The lower humidity has something to do with it I believe.I genuinely love a cold day. In the old days, I was more than happy trading the slippery roads and car cleaning time to get a brisk 20 degree day. Now, I still love the cold, but the disabilities have me paralyzed with fear of a slip and fall. Still, mmm, love them cold days!
Oh man, I do miss being able to take a nice hunting stroll through woods covered in fresh-fallen snow! And I also miss getting to make squirrel gravy. As a teenager growing up in rural Illinois I used to love a fresh snowfall.
