Ok fine he's doing his job. My point is that almost every kicker on every team does their job.

People on here act like he is somehow singlehandedly responsible for our win streak, when in truth he is not doing anything that 25 other kickers and Prater would do.
El wrongo! I mean, laughably wrong. Pittsburgh sports talk radio today was mocking the Cleveland kicker for like a 70% conversion rate. Ryland isn't just doing his job as in showing up to kick no matter the results.

No, he's not singlehandedly responsible for anything, but your "in truth" claim made me belly laugh. My guess is that you just undervalue kickers. Or are you a Prater homer?

with divisional rivals it often don't matter who the better team is - but who the aggressor is

im okay with some defensive penalties this week - im not encouraging them lol well maybe i am but nothing cheap - but if you see a clock that needs cleaning...

this is gonna be a fight - we're probably going to find out just how good our fg kicker is - we better be up to the line with plenty of time and that silent snap count better be on time

Are you saying you don't encourage Luketa to knock the wind out of Geno Smith, but if it happens as part of a bang bang play and Geno needs to go out for a play or two, well... so be it?

By your logic the only posts would be bagging on players who didn't do their job. Just a bunch of negative complaining. Giving Ryland or any player some appreciation is what human kindness is about.
If you have kids and they do well in school or do their chores, do you not give them praise? Or because "almost" every other child is also doing their chores, do you just dismiss the effort?

The way I was taught to play as a defender was simple.
It was my job to pursue the ball and hit the guy that has it so damn hard he don't wanna play no more today. We ain't talking career enders...but if a dude was dumb enough to leave his ribs unprotected...I would happily dislocate a few.

If the enemy is playing their third string guys our chances for victory improve exponentially

no one is acting like that. People are just happy we actually have a competent young FG kicker who also makes them in the clutch. And stats show he's been doing better than Prater has for the last four years.

Trey McBride could see increased volume against the Seattle pressureMcBride is targeted at the 4th highest rate among TEs when the opposing defense generates pressure. The Seahawks generate pressure at the 7th highest rate, which could lead to an increased target share

What a weird week to have kicker debate considering Prater missed 2 field goals in a row in lose against Seahawks last season and was only forgiven because it helped with draft positioning lol
So, he took 2 for the team. Everyone I watched the game with said the same thing. But Prater is near the end of his 50+ field goal NFL record career, so I can see why we would make the change. This team is about youth.
