Not that he has won me over by any stretch... but, Souza has actually been quite hot lately... But he's not in the lineup tonight? This better NOT be a precursor to him going back on the DL after the ugly crash into the right field wall yesterday!

Souza is not in the lineup Monday against the Cubs.

Souza is hitting just .216/.296/.30 in 98 plate appearances this season, though he's gone .375 over his last seven games. Jon Jay will get the start in right field Monday.

You're absolutely right. It was great to see the first inning, then Goldy's HR, but only two hits since? Luckily, one of our two All Star pitchers was in charge.

But that is not the formula to get into the playoffs. Consistency is still a problem.
