Is Paul Goldschmidt back?
That’s the question everyone was asking after the slumping first baseman had eight hits in a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants.
Well, the answer appears to be yes.
Goldschmidt had two home runs, a double and three RBI in the D-backs’ 9-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday.

Paul Goldschmidt continued his sizzling June with two long home runs and a double, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 9-4 on Friday night.

Jake Lamb and David Peralta also homered, and Zack Greinke (5-4) tossed 5 2/3 innings and had an RBI single for Arizona.
Goldschmidt had just 14 hits in May, batting .144 in 27 games, but has already collected 13 hits in seven games this month. He hit three doubles in Wednesday's loss at San Francisco and had another in the first inning Friday, scoring Arizona's first run.
He added a two-run homer in the third, an estimated 438-foot shot to center field that gave Arizona a 3-1 lead. He topped that with a 439-foot bomb to center leading off the ninth for his first multi-home run game of the season and 13th of his career.

DENVER -- Matt Koch, a godsend to the Arizona Diamondbacks' rotation, will start Saturday and try to help them clinch their weekend series against the Colorado Rockies.
The Diamondbacks pounded the Rockies 9-4 on Friday night, hitting three homers in the third inning against German Marquez and sending the Rockies to their sixth loss in eight games. The Rockies (32-31) have lost five consecutive home games, allowing seven or more runs in each game. Their record at Coors Field is 11-17.
Definitely not the ideal environment for the young Mr. Koch.
