Still don't understand how this team can't hit runs in.
Because, Shaggy, the D-backs are trying to play American League baseball. Home runs or nothing. Meaning, most of the time ... nothing. Our MVP, David Peralta, can't do it all by himself.

Which puts pressure on the pitchers. The hitting philosophy has affected the pitching performances, especially relievers, knowing that, sadly, most of the time, there'll be no runs beyond the 4th inning to give them a cushion.

You hire a bench coach from the American League to be a National League manager -- well, that is why I have lost confidence in Torey Lovullo to be able to provide necessary leadership here.

It is not personal. I respect him, he is a nice guy ... but he didn't have the credentials, experience or toughness to take charge, as exemplified by recent examples of ballplayers making decisions on their own that management should be.

The seriousness of it is hidden by our being in the weakest Division in MLB and able to hang around first place. In any other division -- NL or AL -- his passivity and inconsistent decisions and proclamations to the Press would be in the spotlight.

It's sad to see! I am rooting, day by day, for our Diamondbacks to make the playoffs, either by winning the Division or making Wild Card. Even then, I don't see any chance of our being competitive beyond that. And it is frustrating to watch our consistent inability to score runs after the first few innings and what is doing to our pitching staff.

Wrong... they aren't "trying to play American League Baseball." Do you seriously believe that just because Torey came from the Red Sox, that he's trying to turn the Dbacks into an AL team, the league with a DH and therefore a slightly different make-up?? Do you actually believe that ownership, Hall, Hazen and others would actually allow and support such idiocy?? Geeez...

What hitting philosophy are you referring to??

I continue to be stunned by your attacks on Torey. As if this team should somehow be putting other teams far back in their rear-view mirror. As if this team should've, or should be, playing the World Series since Torey took over... Get real BC. Turn your guns on the hitters who continue to fail when things matter most. You are so immensely off-base to continue to harp on Torey as the underlying cause of these pivotal failures...

So you don't see us being competitive beyond the first round of the playoffs?? And I'm guessing you feel this way because of Torey, right? LMAO...

-- Bob Brenly has said on the air that the D-backs are trying to play American League baseball. Needless to say, he is more authoritative about the D-backs than any of us.

-- I told you in my post what I was referring to. The hitting philosophy of home run or nothing.

-- I can't understand not holding the Manager responsible for a problem affecting the whole offense. Clearly, it is a team problem.

-- We had the opportunity to run away the the Division lead when our injured hitters came back. Instead, as I posted, the hitters' inability to score in more than one inning a game for awhile affects the pitchers, too.

I have no desire to keep this going with you. Or having to point out that I posted the very things you overlooked.

82, I don't know you personally. I post my opinions. If you respond to what I post with sarcasm and insults, I am going to try my best to not respond. You have your opinion and I have mine. That's what ASFN is all about. And it's usually fun. And informative to read others' opinions.

Go D-backs. :dbacks:

Three fly outs (and a Catcher's error -- interference) to start the game.

Let's manufacture some runs.

Yup, home run or nothing. Christian Walker with a PH home run on the first pitch in the 6th. 2-0 D-backs.

I agree with 82 and don't see the criticism of TL. He is the reining NL Manager of the year and has lead a team filled with weak hitters to a lead in our division, even as of today. He has done a masterful job of handling this team all year. Yeah, he has made mistakes and everyone can point them out the next day as it is not their decision to make. On paper the Dodgers and Rockies have a better team than us. But here we are, putting ourselves in position to win the division and because of our starting 3 pitchers, giving us a chance to make some noise in the playoffs. Our division is not weak, the DBacks, Dodgers and Rockies are all really good teams and the Giants are a .500 team capable of playing with anyone. Your passive aggressive hate for TL is easy to see through. Hate him all you want, but he has done wonders with this team. Nice guy? BS comment. No credentials? He is earning those as every new manager has to. It is sad to see the disrespect you have towards him. I agree you are a manger wannabe. Just be glad you are not in his position to be second guessed by every decision. You will live longer behind the keyboard rather than being in the dugout making split second decisions. Besides the above, I agree with you and respect your views. Keep posting. Regards.

Up 2-0 and you are still bitching. Geez, give it a rest.

It is great they are up 2, but damn, they only have 3 hits. Most have been pop ups. The pop ups are crazy bad as there have been so many tonight.

Thanks for helping pinpoint the problem, Shaggy. But AZ Native is right. I've been overdoing it. I'll try to stop :deadhorse2:. It is what it is.
