Rise from the Ashes III
I think you would get more out of it if the kittens had families. If we trade a 1st round pick for Foles, I'm going to go out and start kicking stray kittens.

Or worse....I’m also nervous Foles would turn into another Flacco.
Or worse....
Is that what Minny had at the beginning of the season? Or Philly, for that matter? How about the Rams?
You have to have A quarterback, but having a great quarterback is neither necessary nor sufficient, and last night illustrated that.
But the risk is lower if u sign a qb who won the superbowl and got the MVP
As for you guys crapping on Foles' overall body of work - you can't fault him for anything done under Jeff Fisher. And I don't care if he's had an occasional "off" game - when the weight of the world was on his shoulders this year, he delivered in spades. Yes, the Iggles have possibly the best 53-man roster in the league, and the coaching staff used Foles to the best of his abilities, blah blah blah. Bottom line - he delivered. He just beat Brady, in a game where Brady throws for over 500 yards and the Pats don't even punt. My Lord. And he did it all with class, which counts for something too.

With Cousins you only pay through Cap space. With Foles you pay through trade capital and cap space (As a reasonable assumption, Foles will wants an extension to sign with Cardinals no?). #WhyAreWeLosingMindsOverFoles?
Another excellent post, Mitch. You're my Colin Cowherd of AZSFN - I don't always agree with you, but I always appreciate how you make your case. Same goes for Cowherd for me.
I think this was a spot-on analysis. #15 is not that great of a pick. The Cards have taken all kinds of stiffs in the first round in recent years with higher picks than that. I think your observation about how both Mr & Mrs Foles both went to Arizona, and how Phoenix splits the distance between their original home states, is an excellent point, when it comes to Foles (potentially) wanting to land here.
I'd gladly surrender #15 if they can ink him to a reasonable long-term deal. I say "reasonable" which by my definition is anything less than Cousins is going to command. I like Cousins, but just not at anywhere near the price (and more importantly, cap space) he's going to command. I don't like either Rosen or Darnold in the upcoming draft, at least not before Round 2 at the earliest, but they will both get snapped up early. I expect at least one of them, if not both, to be a total bust. They're just not that impressive. Remember when Matt Barkley was everybody's Top 10 pick? I like Keenum, but I don't think he's going anywhere. Mayfield is an interesting prospect, but at #15? Maybe. But he's no sure thing.

2 weeks ago it was all Case Keenum....Now Foles. Thank god there is no QB playing next week or id see .....let's trade our next 3 first round picks for Joe Blow. Unreal sign freaking Cousins if you can everyone else blows.
@Mitch here's a solid article.... not only does he have Warner's quick release, he's starting to really sound like him too.

Watch this video, preferably without sound. Foles release especially on short and intermediate routs is lightning fast. It's much faster than it was even a few years ago.
I am 100% in favor of offering 15 for Foles. But its important to recognize that the Patriots defense was poor in many games during the season so he was not against a top defensive team. Foles should be acquired only if the Cardinals can put together a much stronger offensive line. That is necessary no matter who is brought in for the QB position.
