I've tried to stay positive and just not post, but virtually a fifth of the way through the season and this team is an unmitigated disaster.

Is this a matter of the game passing Stewart and La Russa by?

There is plenty of talent on this roster to be better than this. Not ready to throw TLR and DS to the wolves yet. They made the effort. The responsibility to get the talent on the roster to translate to wins on the field rests with the players and the manager.

Others have said this and I completely agree. Maybe if Chip Hale would stop over managing every inning of every game and let these guys settle in, maybe we would be better.

But no, we get a new, ******** lineup for every game. Guys sent up and down on a weekly basis... We get guys moving all over the field, playing positions they have never played before, not playing their strongest position. Peraltas batting 4th one day, 7th the next, then 5th.

There have been very few games this season where I didn't feel like Chip Hale was screwing up in one way or another.

Set the lineup, leave it alone. If we suck, we suck, but Chip Hale keeps talking about finding a spark, stop Chip.

It's not all his fault, I'm not calling for him to be fired, but he's doing too much right now.

Goldy is on track to strike out 162 times this season....... :(

Starting to feel like he needs to move out of the 3 hole temporarily. If Segura healthy?

Segura SS
Drury RF
Lamb 3B
Peralta CF
Goldy 1B
Tomas LF
Castillo C
Owings 2B
Pitcher

I can't take Ahmed's weak bat anymore, and I might flip Drury and Lamb in the lineup. Either way a young roster that needs some time to settle down (and learn how to play OF [emoji16]), and when they do, I still like our chances of being competitive this season.

Yeah we all know Nick cant hit, but his defense makes it ok if he can bat like .230 or so. But you really were counting on AJ being in the lineup when you made allowances for that. With AJ and Goldy missing from this lineup, you cant tolerate him not hitting. In other words, we're not good enough to have a "defensive short stop" right now.

I have to disagree about messing with the lineup tho. Dont get me wrong, I think your lineup is sound and your logic is on point, but Chip does nothing but mess with the lineup. He actually needs to stop.

Now if we could convince him to use your lineup and leave it that way for a while, now we're talking. lol

How ironic is it that this team basically survived their "nightmare" first month of the schedule? I mean all things considered we still had to give them atleast a passing grade after the Cardinals series. They weren't good but they were competing most nights. We had to play the Rockies and the Marlins for the wheels to finally come off. lol Go figure.

I can live with that lineup... However, I remain unsold on Tomas as both a player and a fit in the clubhouse... I just think he's way to aloof and lazy. And I think the team knows it.
I would much prefer AJ in center when he's healthy, and Drury at second base. But that's just a dream for now...
The harsh reality is that this team simply can't get going and win consistently if Goldy continues to perform like this at the plate. Hate to put that much on one player, but that 's the fact Jack...

Hate to say it too, but Pollack being out changes everything for this team. Pretty amazing that 1 guy can do that to a team

I think it excuses too many others to place the blame on Pollack's injury.

The owners and their budget, the media and their hyping of an average team, the front office and their lack of vision when it comes to risk management...

12-17 with that losing streak and we're still only 3 games back. They just need to get on a roll and it starts tonight. The division is weak and we need to take advantage of it.

News flash. We suck. How or why I don't know.

Watching Goldy be continually overmatched by guys I have never heard of is by far the most unsettling thing about this team this season... This is beyond bizarre...

The hardest team to watch is one that is supposed to do well but stinks.

This team is getting REALLY hard to watch.

The Marlins took 2 of 3 from the Mets, and split a 4 game series with the Nats last month, and have now won 10 of 11. We're struggling and running into hot teams at the same time. Yuck.

I did enjoy watching the Cubs and Nats kick off a 4 game series. Cubs are at the extreme opposite of the baseball matrix. Having fun and killing it right now.

Outside of Drury this team is unwatchable right now. TLR had to come out and squash rumors that Hale is getting canned. Butcher will probably be the first to go but Kendrick is an impatient guy and I don't know if Hale is going to last the season if we continue to implode below .500.

Man I was so pumped for this season now it's just Meh not sure why dbacks have no fire in them it's sad to watch

Stinks but every night I got to MLB website I expect to see the dbacks lost....

I really hope they turn it around quick but not looking promising

Seems like cards have been the only good pro team in az for a while

Is there a can't miss stud in the 2017 MLB draft that could be causing ARZ to tank? That is the only logical reason I could come up with to explain why we are so terrible.

We'll all have our own ideas about what should happen... I heard a suggestion that if things don't turn around in Atlanta, it wouldn't be unlikely that Hale is cut loose and LaRussa is moved into manager position!

That aside, I would instantly bring up Peter O'Brien who is killing it - again - in Reno. And then quickly look to unload Tomas...

I have racked my brain and cannot figure out what is going on with him. If it were anyone else, I would wonder if it had anything to do with the 5 yr 32 million dollar extension he signed compared to Greinke making 34 million this year alone. I know he is human, but I don't see Paul letting that get to him. I just don't know.
