Thankfully it's doubtful we get in.

Sendek needs to step up his scheduling and stop costing his school Tournament berths.

While I agree ASU needs to step up the scheduling for various reasons, thats not really why they're not in the tourney this year. If they don't have that lost weekend in LA, if they dont lose to Stanford in the tourney, if they beat Baylor, BYU or Duke, any combination of one or two of those things and they're in the tournament.

Or they could've made a real schedule, had the same results in those games you mentioned, and made the Tournament today.

The Pac 10 is rarely ever as bad as it was this year, in a normal year with ASUs results this particular OoC schedule wouldn't have mattered. I agree that ASU needs to upgrade the OoC schedule to help make them better when Pac 10 play rolls around, improve their RPI, and most importantly improve fan interest and attendance.

ASUs got Gonzaga and Baylor next year which is nice, and they're going to the Alaska Shootout, but that tourney seems to have lost a lot of luster in recent year with the proliferation of tournaments. It looks like St Johns is the only other halfway decent program in the tourney, so hopefully ASU will play them and Drake and win that tourney.

I hope ASU can start playing teams like UNLV, BYU, Utah, New Mexico, St Marys, Gonzaga, Air Force, Colorado et cetera on a regular basis.

You are right, but I have a feeling ASU doesn't have as good a conference record if the Pac-10, as a whole, is where it normally is.

Of course.

My whole point is, if you say "ASUs schedule is the reason theyre not in the NCAA tournament this year" you're being factually incorrect. They had a strong enough schedule to get in had they won certain games.

Now what they need to do in the future is schedule about 3 more of those sorts of games per year, increasing their odds of getting a few wins.

It's a catch 22.

ASU didn't get in because their schedule was weak. Had they had a stronger schedule, they woudn't have gotten in because their record wouldn't have been good enough.

They just didn't have a good enough team this year.

:yeahthat:

Which is exactly why nobody should be complaining (not like anyone here really is).
