That last play before the FG looked like a TD on the replay, but the defender's body blocked the view of the WR's right foot landing in the red endzone.

frustrating end to the half for ASU. Can't stop Wisconsin's drive, WAY too many penalties, then they almost redeem themselves with a run back but fall just short.

ASU played as well as they have in a long time in that first half and they still go in to the locker room down.

refs just stole a TD from the Devils. That was as obvious an interference call as it comes, very annoying.

I'm so tired of all the ticky tack reputation calls when you have guys getting mugged in the endzone. Everybody watching knew that was blatant interference, except for the ref 3 feet away. Do your freaking jobs, Wisconsin doesn't need your help.

Very impressive game for the Devils... hey got robbed on the no-call in the end zone for sure. But the blocked extra point is inexcusable as well...

The blown call hurt worse. It would have been 23-20 at the end with Wisconsin needing a FG to tie. Would have been an entirely different game.

Sucks to be robbed.

Great showing on the road against a tough team.

Tough loss for the Devil. Lets hope this team has better mental resolve than past ASU teams of recent memory and can bounce back. That no Pass Interference call on Wisconsin was a killer. Almost running that kick back, just so many close opportunities.

I was disgusted by UWs defensive players flopping all over the field and faking injuries all day. They had ONE defensive player go down and stay out the rest of the game, the rest were back in just a few plays. Watt in particular laid down twice only to come back, at one point the cameras caught DE on the sideline laughing about it. Real classy way to slow down ASUs hurry up Badgers!

Ah well, Im happy ASU kept it close, this looks like a team that could squeeze out 7 wins at least and go bowling.

This is just going to ruin my whole week, unless the Cards pull off the upset tomorrow. That blown interference call was just plain ridiculous. It was clear, it was extreme and there is no way that ref failed to see it. He simply failed to call it.

It's no excuse for us losing that game but we definitely had an uphill battle against these refs. Still, it could have been worse. We could have been playing against the UNC refs from several years ago. I really thought Wisconsin would handle us easily but they have to know how lucky they were to get this win.

It will be awhile before we discover if we're really this good or if Wisconsin was just overrated but it bodes well for conference play.

I suspect this will come down to whether or not Wisconsin is successful in play-action pass. That offense is so straight forward I expect a much stronger game from ASU, especially between tackles where they're expecting Toa Tuitea back to provide some much needed stout and depth at tackle. ASU's corners are really, really good, but I think Clint Floyd can be had on play fakes (or any fake). That FS position is a real wild card position this week for ASU.

Game went down pretty much like I thought it would. If ASU could've figured out how to keep a linebacker on 84 (they were putting him wide to get matched up on a corner in the red zone), I think the Devils could have overcome at least two blatantly bad calls that would have changed the game. (And I just don't complain about the refs, but that was REALLY REALLY bad officiating)

A few things...

This is definitely NOT a 9th place team. I do believe that Wisconsin is a bit overrated, but we really showed up to play. Threet looked great...no real mistakes against a good D in that hostile environment.

Lack of discipline will cost Erickson his job.

This is going to ruin my week. I don't think even a Cardinals victory will be enough to help me get over bein one of the few Sun Devil fans I know at ASU...gonna hear a lot of "I told you so"

ASU may be better than I gave them credit for. They still managed to find a way to lose a winnable game, but they showed a lot of promise. Wisconsin may be extremely overrated, we'll see what happens the next few weeks.

This isn't a typo or accidental slip of some kind? Are you really saying that you attend ASU and Sun Devils fans are a minority? That's just so tough for me to fathom. When I went there, not only were we all rabid Sun Devils fans but the same was true of the surrounding communities. Of course, Kush was still king at the time.

I am by no means an ASU (or a UA fan for that matter) fan but I thought the officiating was atrocious, with the most obvious being the non-PI call.

Sooo many missed opportunities: missed FG, return for touchdown called back, the running back tripping when he would have taken it to the house, blocked extra point

Sucks you couldnt overcome all that, but it was a decent game for someone not really rooting for either team.

I go to the Tempe campus.

1. Only about 10% of the student population has bought season tickets. They haven't been sold out even though they are 55% cheaper per game with a season ticket package.
2. I work at the Student Recreation Complex, an on-campus job with most of the staff being sports fans and I can count on two hands how many people that, outside of the pro-staff that promote it, actually care about ASU games.
3. I spent two shifts at a Gameday table trying to sell season tickets and...I've never been rejected more in my life. I heard way too much of "they're terrible", "why should I go when they always lose?", etc...

A couple of bad seasons will destroy an Arizona fan base...I sometimes feel close to how I did when I was the only Cardinals fan in Jr. High. Of course, the fan base has improved slightly with this new Gameday initiative that has been started, which I assist with when I can. However, it all comes with winning. And they really should be selling alcohol at the pregame tailgate even if they decide not to do so at the games...this has been the biggest reason why students come late and leave early.

It would also help if you all would attend the games as well. Looking across to the other side of the stadium at half-full stands does not really get people excited. I will continue to be there every game; the next 19 or so home games that I have left in the student section.

Edit: I have to say I usually am a realist, but I'm a big time homer right now about ASU because I have to be. I have Rose Bowl hopes and am 100% positive all the time because someone needs to love this group right now. We 7-8K students will be there in our gold and ready to rush the field next weekend.
