Combed through all of MLB's on-field incidents since 2000. Yesterday was the first day in this century in which 2 players charged the mound in 2 different games! The closest was 3 days in a row in June 2008 (2 days of Red Sox-Rays, plus a Matt Kemp-Yorvit Torrealba scuffle)

Kevin Plawecki did not escape unscathed after all. A follow-up MRI revealed a hairline fracture in his left hand that the initial x-ray did not. The Mets have placed Plawecki on the DL. They lost their two top catchers in the same day, essentially.

As unique as baseball is (a batter is successful if he gets a hit every third official at-bat), he would probably strike himself out three times out of four, then give up a solo home run and the game would go into extra innings with a score of 1-1.

I know money is the reason he isn't but man Verlander would look nice in ARZ with the way Ray and Greinke have struggled so far. Godley and Corbin are going to have to hold down the fort until they get on track.
