Maybe it has to do with the fact that would mean we WON more games. Playoffs or not losing is for losers. Win as many games as possible, period.
You ever wonder about why certian teams are always picking in the top 10 year after year getting these so called playmakers, and still suck year after year. Paying these kids more money then any other player on the team even though they havent played a single down.
You bring up a good point, but just for the record. I was watching ESPN last evening, and they had a clip from a San Francisco broadcaster. He said, Hey, I can tolerate watching one more lousy loss, for a chance to see Reggie Bush run for the Niners for the next 10 years.
Win as many meaningful games as you can, but once the season is "over", think about the future(in how you prepare the team and who you give playing time.
Good teams still seem to find good talent in picks after the top 10 why couldnt we?
Another good point, and I think the Cards do draft pretty good (at least recently) I think that Arrington would have put up big numbers in a Dallas for instance.
What they need is a coach ( I think Denny is a good talent evaluator, but not a good coachIMHO . When the Parcells or the Charlie Weises of th league are out there, they never seem to be on the Cards short list. Or, the Cards are not on their short list. In a league with all the rules in place the NFL has for parity, theoretically, the talent should be somewhat blanced. This makes the caoaching more important than ever IMO
The goal should be to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS, NOT 5 -7 GAMES.
I don't hear the Steeler fans of the 70's, or Cowboy fans of th 90's apoligizing for the lousy teams that brought them high draft picks, and the SUPER BOWL TRIUMPHS that followed.
No offence, but fans worrying about their favorite team getting to 6 or 7 wins is funny.
Sorry about this lousy keyboarding, spacing, spelling (you name it
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
