Cooper was my 3rd or 4th choice. Thing is the LT's went fast and furious and with the pass rushers right there with them. So all those articles and opinions that LT's are slipping in value...........uhmm, not so much.

Since there were no top notch QB's in this draft then the next level of players who have the biggest impact on the passing game were drafted early and often.

Cards got their choice of the top OG"s and went with Cooper, fingers crossed and cautiously optimistic but the #7 pick on a position that the NFL still doesn't value as much as several others. Well those who didn't want the 3rd best player at his position (Lane Johnson) should be happy.

Let's hope that Levi is the guy we saw at the end of the 2011 season and Massie is who we think he will be based on his play the last 8 games of 2012.

Hmmm. You use the fact that 3 OT's were drafted at the top of the 1st round to make your point that OT's are still high value but you apparently discard the notion that OG's are now also considered high value even though 2 of them went in the top 10.

Five years ago, there was a vast difference in the value between a tackle and a guard. I agree with those that suggest that the gap between them is closing. It hasn't closed yet, probably never will, but it isn't the gap we were used to seeing. I think that is the point that many of the pundits have been trying to make. JMO.

Glad Reid is off the board. I like Elam better.

Reading the tea leaves at this point.

Cards go DT in rd 2 because they seem to be falling more than any other position.

I was thinking TE or Safety but you never know when a run on a position will change everyone's thinking.

This is a different draft than most so maybe I was premature in my assessment. Thing is that many experts had the OG's rated higher than the OT's and yet the OT's went first. Many have said that Warmack and Cooper are rare and once in a decade talents so maybe it isn't so surprising they went top 10 in a draft that had zero top notch QB talent.

Bottom line, 3 OT's went in the first 4 picks. OG's went 7th and 10th. Is the gap closing, probably so but OT's are still more valuable the OG's.

I really don't think the Cards are targeting a QB this year...unless 4th Round or later. I heard Mayock comment earlier that a lot of guys with 2nd round grades will be available in the 4th round this year, because so many players have graded out the same.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. I think the real point though is that OG's are no longer one of the overlooked positions. If this same draft class was on the market a decade ago, Cooper and Warmack probably don't go until the late teens.
