So here we are.

I really don't see much difference at this point between these 2 teams.

ASU has had some games that they "should" have won and Arizona does too. Arizona beat Iowa which was a great win but it really is the only big win that either school has had this year.

I think most UA fans want to think they are so much better but I think they were the benefits of a great early season schedule like we had a few years ago.

UA should be a 3-4 point favorite but that is it in my opinion.

I look forward to it like always!

I wish I had the money to go...this has been set up to be a very meaningful game within Arizona.

I think this is somewhat accurate but UofA has handled its business against the second and third-tier teams this season. I think this would be a much more competitive game in Tempe but being that this game is played in Tucson, it'll be a much different game than last season.

Moreover, ASU is 1-4 on the road this season with its only win being against lowly UW. I acknowledge you played most teams on the road close, but you gotta close those games out.

Ill give you this: we've been reeling the past three weeks, but that's been against USC, Stanford and Oregon. Those games humbled us a bit. Eventually the bleeding must stop and no better to heal wounds than to beat up on little brother ;)

It'll be close, but I give the edge to UofA by 2 possessions.

GO CATS! :cats:

Your going to get beat by 10+ devils. We are what we are. The 3rd or 4th best team in the Pac-10. You guys are like 7th or 8th. And we are at home.

FWIW Osweiler (and him getting the start is official now) scares me moreso then Threet, but I'll still take both our QB's over anybody thats been on the Sun Devil roster going on about 10 years now.

I don't usually post on this forum due to it's for ASU fans, but I just wanted to say good luck and let's hope the game is cleanly played. It does suck it's being played on a Thursday but when ESPN calls, you don't say "no."

Ha, I expect U of A to win because they are at home, but don't fool yourself...both teams are talented but inconsistent. Anybody who has watched both teams consistently would know that there is little that separate them. Sagarin ratings confirm this.

Not sure how the Cats have been inconsistent...they've lost to the teams that are better than them but for the most part have played pretty well all year (especially with Foles healthy).

I'm excited. Reminds me a little bit of watching the rivalry growing up but now the shoe is on the other foot. Arizona should be favored but no one should be shocked if ASU wins.

Funny how much I still care about this game even though ultimately I didn't attend either school.

This should be the last time for the foreseeable future that Arizona is favored in this game. Things seem to be reverting back to the mean (ASU better in football, Arizona becoming a hoops powerhouse) after a few odd years.

Wouldn't be too surprising. U of A hoops looked pretty good against Kansas the other night, and Miller can recruit. Just a shame things didn't work out with Floyd, and Miller changed his mind. A real stroke of luck for the Cats...

True, I don't think the powerhouse label will apply to UA Hoops until next season but they'll hopefully sneak into the NCAA's this year. Miller and co. are recruiting so well though that it's almost inevitable that they're a major contender for the next several years. And you say luck, I say money. Miller wasn't coming here until a booster coughed up the dough for an offer he couldn't refuse (a nice check for $1 million to sign on the line) and we only have those types of boosters because of past prestige. I ultimately think someone would've stepped in and stopped the Tim Floyd thing but I guess you never know. Floyd getting the boot at USC was what we're most fortunate as it got us Derrick Williams (and Momo Jones, but he'll likely transfer I think) but even then Miller had to do his normal clowning of Herb Sendek on the recruiting trail to get Williams to Tucson.

As far as football goes, I think assuming they get the QB thing straightened out that ASU has a chance to win 9-10 games next year while I'd be surprised if Arizona made it to the postseason. It's become obvious that Stoops has peaked. His recruiting is marginal and his sideline antics do not win him any favors from anybody whether it's HS coaches, officials, Arizona AD officials, boosters, etc. I hope someone falls in love with his last name so much that they take him off our hands in a sad attempt to "win the press conference" but that's highly unlikely. AD's have fooled all of us before though with head-scratching hires before so I'll cross my fingers.

I think it comes down to Cam Marshall vs. the UA run defense, which is mystery meat. If Marshall has a big day, the pass protection for ASU gets much better, and ASU's offense is pretty productive. If he disappears, Osweiller may not finish the game because UA's ends can collapse the pocket in a hurry.

I think Oz's big day against UCLA is being misinterpreted by ASU fans that he's arrived. UCLA has a decent pass defense, but they're not a stellar pass rushing team. The kid had a lot of time to make throws and it was kind of like sandlot football for him. He won't have that kind of time in the pocket against UA, and especially if that front six/seven doesn't have to maintain gap discipline against the run.

Umm he is def a U of A homer (although no where as bad as that azz clown Bordow) but that article was a positive piece on your coach and predicted you guys to beat us.

Why are you upset?

Ha, and called us potential Rose Bowl candidates next year...not sure how ol Scott interpreted that one.

You feel that bad about next year even with Senior QB and a favorable home schedule?
