ASU vs UofA 2010

I find it hilarious to see virtually no UofA fans on here lately, I suppose it makes sense, they are in the midst of their worst season in decades, meanwhile ASU is in first place in the PAC-10 and is surprise team of the conference...

Tomorrow in Tempe, the Sun Devils look to extend their winning streak over UofA.. the last time the Cats beat the Devils? Feb 23rd, 2007...

Apparently there is one person who believes that UofA will smoke the devils on Saturday.....Daniel Bejarano in an article on AZcentral.com talks about how Boetang will not handle Williams down low, and they will be able to get in the paint and score at will..

This expert anaylsis comes because he has watched "a couple minutes of ASU before changing the channel"

In the end, ASU should win tommorrow, they have the nations BEST defense, and UofA, has a pretty ineffeciant offense, and THAT combination is going to be the story of the game...

My official prediction:

ASU- 68
UofA- 55

ASU hasn't really impressed me. NO one in the Pac10 has impressed me. I wouldn't say ASU is a great team, they could very easily lose the next 4, just as likely as we could win the next 4 (or vice versa).

With that said, ASU is the surprise team of the conference. And I think they'll be surprised in Tempe this weekend.

and you forgot to make a predicition....

Being that we have shown well against decent teams on the road and have more overall depth and talent, I would say while we shouldn't be favored, we have a ok chance of winning.

However there are big advantages for ASU as they have been in Sendek's system for multiple years now and their defense is strong. I have no doubt it will be hard fought/gritty game and being that's more ASU's style then UA's, it will pretty tough to come to Tempe and win.

But come late February I believe UA will be the better team. Just not sure we are there yet.

The funny thing is I bet most Devil fans who are touting their "#1 scoring defense" couldn't name five players on the team or anyone on the coaching staff beyond Herb without using Google.

Gee you have changed a bit since the old days on azcardinals.com. See the thing about the au red army is that they are similar to the coast gaurd. The Cardinals Red Army is closer to being Navy SEALS.

Competitve first half... ASU jumped out to an early 10 point lead and the game was going just how I thought it would, and then all of a sudden, ASU couldn't buy a basket, they wnet the final 7 minutes of the half WITH A FG?

That should change in the 2nd half... Also missed FTs killed the devils, just 8-15, while UofA didn't miss, going 13-13...

Devils still have a 2 point lead though at half... hopefully we will remember how to shoot the damn ball a little and ASU should be fine...

wow... This ASU team goes through times, where they are the worst offensive team in the nation BY A MILE....

11 minutes to go, down by 9, ASU is shooting 25% from the field and 53% from the FT line...

I just don't see how they can be this bad offensively......

since Kukisks 3 int he first half, the Devils are 3-24.... with 4 TO... sickening...
