It's great to see all the dejected Cubs fans! :D

As a Cardinals fan, I don't want to see another cursed team (like the Cubs or Red Sox) win a championship before the Cards do.

And that's not even mentioning the fact that the Braves should be spanking the Marlins right now.

It is unbelievable that a Cub fan would interfere with a foul ball. If the Cubs don't win this series I would think that fan will have to move out of Illinois. Here is how Cub fans feel about him.

look what's on the boy's shirt, can you make it out, do you think what I think it is??

look at the girl behink the boy. it looks like she's trying to hold the boy's arm back because she knew it & Moises Alou knew it. I t was playable. You can see it in her body language, the way she is trying to keep his arm back.

No one mentions the guy in front of that kid who was trying just as hard to grab that ball too. In fact there were about 3-4 people in that area scrambling for it....poor kid!

BTW, did you happen to notice on sportscenter he was wiping his face because people were throwing beer and coke at him.....i would have left!

What SportsCenter didn't show but WGN did was the kid being led out and a couple fans going after him on the concourse and alot of pushing and shoving occurring down there with security. It was getting ugly for sure.

Here is the real issues with that play that the ESPN guys miss IMO are this:

1. As much as momentum plays a part in a baseball game, this was a total momentum changing play (notice I am not saying this play cost them the game. Too many things happen for that to be true). As Cheese said, this play really opened the floodgates. If the play is made Prior/players/fans get a little more jacked and the Marlins get closer to acceptance.

2. The ESPN guys also suggest that criticism of the fan is wrong as they suggest all fans would have been scrambling for the ball. I take exception to that since Monday night in BOS, a similar type play occurred and the BOS fans gave the Red Sox player room along the rail there to make the play. That Cub fan should have known better. I am willing to give him some leeway but if the Cubs lose tonight, he will be the Bill Buckner of the Cubs.

I thought Dusty's postgame comments were strongly worded and he even went so far as to intimate that the fan was actually a Marlins fan. I doubt that but you could tell he was upset. Alou was really upset.

Sports - THE BEST reality show on television

When it comes to drama, shock and awe, it was a piece of art what happened last night. You couldn't script a more intriguing collapse. Ace on the mound with a 3 run lead in the 8th - fan interference - horrible error - timely hitting by Florida - fans in the stands in obvious emotional distress - unbelievable.

Makes me sick.

I bet 9 out of 10 people would have instictively gone for that ball. To single that kid out is lame. Its a friggin baseball game, folks. If CHI's shortstop doesnt bobble that easy grounder the Cubs mostly likely recover. Why arent people talking about lynching him?

If you cant recover from THAT, you shouldnt be playing the game.

Well, first I was hardly being serious. I would spend $1000 to fly home and try to find a guy whom I do not know...who may not even live in IL...and hunt him down? Sorry but if you didn't sense the frustration, then you misread it.

As for the fan, I will point out again that the Red Sox fans on Monday seemed to understand the concept of giving their guy a chance to make the play along the rail so I still disagree with the 9 out of 10 argument.

The fan didn't cost anyone the game. Up to that point, the door was open a crack. That fan opened the door and Gonzalez' error blew the hinges off. Fact remains, if Alou makes the play the entire course of that inning changes including the way Prior pitches to the next guy...which may end up negating the error all together.

Game 7 tonight. We will see if it has any of this has an effect.

Prior had Rodriquez down 0-2 and laid a fat one in the middle of the plate for him. Nobody is talking about that, but was also a crucial error. Plus, Baker brings on the reliever to give an intentional walk? Strange. Maybe Baker was flustered too.

The Chicago Sun Times has an article about the guy and reports his name and where he works. Man in the stands

I think it's great.I'm a White Sox fan and am not too eager to see the Cubs winning prior(pun intended) to the Whie Sox.

I would have to think twice about it!

i'd shave my head, wear contacts, leave the walkman at home, and put on a fake beard. then i'd go. armed.

Yep, the 90's are over.....and the Braves are still winning the NL East like it was the 90's.

The Cubs have had their day in the sun, and now they can continue their Cardinalesque losing ways. As I said before, I don't want to see the Cubs win before the Cards do.

We deserve it more, at least the Cubs get fan support.

I would love it if the Cards went to the Super Bowl and won it all after averaging 30,000 fans per game. :D

i work in the newport beach office of hewitt. that article flew around our offices globally (73 countries - over 15,000 employees - everyone one of whom now knows steve bartman's name). he didn't show up to the office today. but apparently he had a lot of nasty notes waiting at his desk and our florida offices sent him flowers (two bouquets i believe). our company loves to use acronyms, so now when someone screws something up around here it's gonna be a "SB."

OH MAN, just heard that someone sent him something COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE (they won't tell us what) and that the someone just got canned!

I see in the crystal ball...

OT of the final game in 2008 - All the Cardinals have to do to be in the Superbowl is win the game.

4th & 12 on the Ram 38. Duncan to attempt a 55 yard field goal.

It's straight enough. It's long enough. It's gooo......BUT

Some dude attached to a bungee cord is catapulted out of the stands, head butts the ball just before it goes over the cross bar and then is catapulted back into the stands.

The ball bounces back to the 10 where it is scooped up by Adam Archuleta who returns it for a game-winning TD....
