I keep reflecting on the Ayton trade and probably will for years to come.

If Nassir Little can play power forward for the Suns, he might be the steal of the trade long term because of his reasonable 4-year contract.

I'm high on Grayson Allen, but in the back of my mind I'm asking myself will the Suns be able to keep him after the coming season. I really hope they can afford him.

Nurkic is solid at center but he has lost a lot of athleticism due to injuries and is a bit flat-footed. I’m really hoping he can stay healthy. Hopefully his skills will carry him because he can pass, shoot and rebound. If there is a position the Suns could use more depth, this is it. Drew Eubanks was a fantastic addition and the Suns will need him.

If the Suns decide to keep Keon Johnson and develop him as a defensive specialist, the Ayton trade continues to look better and better.

If Little becomes a solid rotation player then that's a big plus. I think Camara was the steal of the trade, which ended up favoring Portland. I can definitely see Allen as the big bonus for us, if we can't flip Little for something or someone.

I agree with your comments.

After watching the tape of the LA game, the steal of the trade was unloading Ayton. I didn’t really understand how dysfunctional the offense was with Ayton. It could be Vogel or the fact we have a totally new race car but nobody stands around much wondering what to do.

The other aspect of our new race car, I have not seen this team with so many players who can and will attack the basket. It’s impressive watching.

Allen needs to be really solid and we need Little to develop into something usable.

I don't see Nurkic being a useful player for more than a year, if that long. I expect our top priority next summer will be finding some way to upgrade at center.

Hopefully it doesn't take another 50 years.

The Suns have found some unsung centers in Drew Eubanks and Jock Landale. Maybe they can continue this streak.

They got his Bird rights with the trade, no? If they don't resign Allen it's probably because they didn't think he was a good fit after the season played out.

The Suns may not want to get into a bidding war to keep him or he might want to play elsewhere next season. I do think Allen is a keeper. The Suns might decide to go with more role type players.

I wouldn't be surprised if we facilitated a sign and trade if we don't keep him beyond the season. That's the luxury of turning Ayton's 1 max deal into 4 various sized deals. We got Nurkic making roughly 40% of Ayton's salary and then Allen and Little each making around 25% of his deal a year and then Keon on a deal the size of the biannual exception.

Who cares? I hated Ayton as much as the next guy, glad he’s gone but why waste any more time on him at this point?
A lot of people (aint naming no names) didn't want us to make the Ayton / Nurk trade

I'm guessing those are the people not wanting to see any comparisons made post-trade

Again - who cares? It's way too early to make any conclusions, and we're in a better situation. Time to stop creAyton drama around DA - he gone, and we're likely better because of it.

MOST here were not against trading Ayton. Most here were against DUMPING Ayton. I don't think anybody cares about the Blazers games but I don't mind comparison by numbers. Longer term we won't know if it was worth the trade unless we do look at the numbers and outcome (team wins).

I don't know why anyone thought Ayton would be a more potent offensive weapon playing with Scoot Henderson than he was with Chris Paul.
I figured he would take more shots on that team, but not that he would be more potent. Then I saw them in preseason and realized how many guys they have that jack up shots and I was no longer so sure about that first part.
