Reality???

Regression???

Disregards???

We've added experienced former starters in Bradley, Holiday, Marshall, and a productive backup in Eason. We have Williams and Washington into their second year. Schofield fully healed. Solid contributors in Lenon and Haggans, and hopefully a bounce back year from Porter. We drafted Peterson, Acho, Sturdivant, Carter to add to the mix. Wilson won't be the first to play with a bicep tear, and the tandem of him and Rhodes is solid. Jefferson was a steal a few years back it would seem.

etc., etc,. etc.

This is the reality to date, and we'll see reality one way or the other in the months to come.

the above doesn't real seem like "reality" to me... moe like wishful thinking/best case scenario. Jefferson's a steal? The reality is he's a 2nd year guy who was undrafted and completely unproven going into this season. Lenon and Haggans are solid contirbutors? That's stretching it a little don't you think? Lenon is best suited as a back-up and Haggans was no great shakes last year and is a year older at 34. And reality is a "bounce-back" year for Porter? The guy was awful last year, is a year older and looks awful so far again this year. That's the reality.

Now we did add Bradley, Holiday and Eason for depth which is good. I'll give you that reality. And Williams and Washington and Schohawk all showed flashes and are headed into their second years which is the reality. But every team has a draft who they added... and likely most, if not all of those players will take at least a year, if not two to develop. That's reality in the NFL, especially in a year where they basically had no OTA/Training camp.

As far as the rest of reality, we already saw what a banged up AW did last year (which was not much) and we already lost a starting CB for the season. That's reality on D.

seriously, the picture you painted above would make it seem like there's literally no weakness on the D. After all, we have a solid S tandem, a "steal" in Jefferson and Marshall brought in who was a starter, nto to mention Peterson when the reality is that's probably one of the most suspect units in all of football.

but hey... you call it realistic, i call it wishful thinking. potatoe, potato. The proof will be be in the pudding and i hope i'm wrong. we'll see soon enough.

What you have to like about our defensive personnel is that we have MULTIPLE young players at our weaker positions that are reinforced by veteran players. We aren't banking our hopes on only Schofield, we are banking on Schofield and/or Acho developing and then we have mediocre veterans in Haggens and Porter in case neither develop. We aren't hoping on just AJ Jefferson, it's AJ and Patrick Peterson who are being pushed by Richard Marshall and will be reinforced by Mike Adams.

Honestly with a weak early schedule and with the Cardinals not putting all their eggs into any one basket, I am cautiously optimistic about our defense this year.

Well, I'll stick with my real time impressions, and let the season dictate the reality.

As the saying goes: The proof of a pudding, is in the eating. ;)

I have never seen so many people get worked up over cutting a punter. Really, how bad do you have to be when cutting the punter is considered a travesty?

Did you miss last season? The Cards were really, really bad. Our kickoff RETURN guy was the other highlight of the season.

I liked Grahm

His overall average yards per kick were down, He was still the best weapon punter in the NFL, with his coffin corners and placement.

Media said something about "sending a message" When we cut Grahm. I'm ok with it but I want to see some positive messages sent to our players! get the vice off their privates.

At least we have more than 3 drafted cards resigned at Whiz's 6 year mark, Lyle wasn't drafted Ha Ha.

worrying about the punter, using cutting the old punter to send a message, does not fare well for the 2011 Cardinals?

Giving Beanie and Kolb full confidence is a great start, rather than torturing them to the last minute, to see how they respond! ( Like we have a choice.)

Why was this guy Cut...??? Ben Graham, P The real reason. Not the "MATTY" type of reasoning we heard last year. I hope it wasn't Like Matt"s. BP is one of the best Punters in the league. He punted great on Friday and even made a key tackle on a punt return. I would really like to know why. He will be missed this season, especially when we need a put to be between the goal line and the 20 yard line late in the game. Who is new punter, never heard of him be fore this season. :(

I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but sometimes I wonder if some of you actually pay attention during games.

Ben Graham was HORRIBLE last year. AWFUL. Bar none his hang time on punts was up there with the worst I've seen as a Cardinals fan. Sure he's good at pinning, but I'd rather have a guy with awesome hang time that doesn't give the returner the chance to get a 20 yard return every time he touches the ball.

Good riddance. Ben Graham is a bottom ten punter in this league and we needed to move on. Hopefully we find a young guy soon, who can punt for the next 5-10 years.

That's nonsense! The TERRIBLE QB situation caused Graham to struggle last year. He would have been great again this season now that we have a decent QB.
