It's still funny! We burned the 5th overall pick on a player that wasn't even the best at his position in his conference. Good times, y'all.

But you wanted us to keep Big who wasn't even the best player at his position on his team.

Joe Thomas and Jake Long would have both been Top 5 picks. If that is the best you can do in the way of criticism, then we did very well.

Why? Because we reached for need? Had Long and Baker declared, we would have been far happier with either of them, but we were stuck with Brown.

Heck, we could have retained Big for a season, been better, and then gotten one of those two guys next season. We didn't do well because we let need dictate above talent.

Just want to be sure I'm getting your drift here... Whiz and Grimm, two extremely well respected coaches, one (Grimm) widely viewed as the best o-line coach in the NFL, decide that Fat-Ass Davis is not worth one more penny, and that after extensive review & meetings with Brown, that Levi is worth the pick and investment - and you are already calling it a wasted pick?? That contrary to the belief of Whiz and Grimm, we would have been better off sticking with Lard-Ass Davis??

Can you possibly be anymore pompous and presumptuous???

Oh come on. Every board needs a cranky old man. K9 is just filling a need.

He would be a luxury if 40 would start complaining about the Cards though. Then we wouldn't need K9 to fill that need and he could chill a little bit.

Somehow I'm sure this is Rod Graves fault.

Then who was and why wasn't he drafted in the top 5?

I don't have to explain anything. I don't even have to be right. All I have to do is continually post the same thing about a player over and over.

However, I did notice that Penn State scored a combined total of 19 points in their 3 2006 games against Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio State. So I was wondering if Brown missed those games, especially against Wisconsin where PSU only had 36 yards rushing.

Did PSU have an exceptionally bad QB?

Hey, the only time I complain about the cards is when I'm playing poker. Besides, I have shirts older than K9.:D

Ok you're taking the "Davis was a good LT" approach to your arguement. Had me confused for a second.

That first paragraph is signature worthy. As for the scores of those games, I have no idea, but didn't those three teams have almost 30 wins combined?

Democrat?

:D

Dang, caught red-handed. Make stuff up, repeat over and over until until people begin to believe it. First thing they teach you at politician school. Also important in message board posting.

re: K-9...

What has been disappointing is that he hasn't turned his exceptional analytical skills, rivaling history's greatest minds - to something of greater consequence to life then the ebbs and flows of the Cards.

I'm certain, and feel many agree, that if K-9 applied himself, he could find the cure to cancer, and more important... the number one cause of human demise: Natural causes.

P.S. If you don't believe me... ask him.

He was going to but deferred to Q in the interest of franchise harmony.

40 did complain about the Cards once. Back in 2003 when they didn't sign Colvin. 40 promised the Cards that if they ever started construction on the new air conditioned stadium he'd never complain again. Hasn't griped since the groundbreaking.

SO basically in this post your saying that retaining LD wouldnt have helped this team one iota? Because if we would have been able to draft one of the others you are saying it would take a top 5 pick. So once again not a real strong argument to keep LD.

I thought the last time 40 complained was in 1898 when he was at the Cardinals (Morgan athletic club) first game. Halfback Smiley McPete ran left when he should have ran right and he said, "if they ever invent Air Conditioning I'll never complain again"

Ever since I discovered that I had a wife who would never let my drink get further down than 1/2 full, I've been a glass half full person. Sure beats being half empty.;)

No, for a couple reasons.

1) Because I think right now this is a 3-13 team and already headed for the #1 overall pick. Top 5 would be an improvement.

2) If we really wanted to get rid of Davis, we could franchise him again and then trade our first and two seconds to move up to get Long and/or Baker. But since I would have predicted greater improvements for Davis under Grimm/Whis than many forsee for Brown, I think that we wouldn't be looking for a new LT, anyway, and we'd be happy paying $50 million for a guy that made his first Pro Bowl.
