It was the right call. The ball was knocked out prior to him hitting the ground, he never regained full possession of the football. Therefore it is a fumble.

It was the right call by all measures. Seriously not getting the stress over this one. Not one chief fan near us complained.

Maybe the TV announcers planted something false in your heads.

At the game we saw the side view replay immediately and it was beyond clear. Again not one chiefs fan complained and they just hung their heads.

Yep they had it on the Jumbo tron. Clearly a fumble.

Mike Carey is terrible. He can't wait to jump in with his black-and-white opinion. Arrogant. Perrera on Fox is actually much better, and he tries to explain things as well.

Good call IMO but I don't understand why it went out way. I mean...now Ellington is out too. The football gods clearly don't like us this season.

They must have been distracted for that call to go our way.

The ball being knocked loose for a split-second is never in doubt. I thought he regained control as he rolled over. Bucannon being out of position in coverage turned out working in our advantage.

Thanks for posting this BIM.

Like I said, clear as day. It's not even close IMO, oh and the official. Chiefs fans can go ahead and wait for that apology though. Good luck with that.

Of course they are going to say that. They are chiefs fans. If the roles were reversed then the non-realist cardinal fans would be saying the same thing.

Welcome to the board...Son! That's right this is my son, he can honestly say he's been a Cards fan for his entire life. He had his own season ticket since he was 3 years old. When we moved out of Phx in 99 him and I started an annual "road trip every season" and we have been to 19 different stadiums (I think).

Noobs buy I'll take 2- carne asada burritos you know where to get em.

That was one of them "it's only the right call by the letter of the rules" deals. The rules don't always translate to the correct call being made.

This makes no sense. You have a rule or you don't.

When you watch it in slow mo it appears he regained control but IMO he was attempting to regain control when the ball popped out. How many times have we seen a receiver bring a ball down in slo mo take a step and it pops out to be called incomplete?

On the Kansas City Star facebook page they asked if the fumble was a bad call. There are hundreds of replies, almost all in the affirmative. A lot of them are sure they'll be getting an apology real soon from the league office. Dreaming is free I guess.

And you wouldn't do the same?

This place would be freaking out if the same thing happened to the Cardinals.

The TV announcers were awful for most of the game, and the "rules expert" they have, Mike something, was even worse. I don't know what feed people were watching, but I had a stream up and you could see the ball loose in the first 2 replays they showed on TV. Of course the color guy was till hung up on the wording the ref used. I think he said they were looking at the catch and down by contact ruling. The color guy kept going back to whether or not it was a catch, and was adamant that the catch was the only thing the refs could review.

I was at the game...and YES the ball was moving as he was headed down...and it was a clear fumble. Watching it live you could see the ball coming out AND the players reaction after was 'O blank' and he motioned for the offense to run a play fast...he motioned to Alex and the others....LET'S GO LET'S GO...he was yelling at them GO GO GO. The replay in the stadium was CLEAR ...and VERY VERY WELL DONE! They pulled that replay up the fastest I've ever seen...the play was barely over and they ran it on the big board...once BA saw it it was an easy challenge. Not sure why the hub bub over the call IT WAS CLEARLY a fumble.

They couldn't even get the challenge reason right during the game. They kept insisting the challenge was about the catch. It was not. The reason for the challenge was that it was rule a dead ball. It was stated CLEARLY and yet they couldn't even get that right.

They were awful.

I wouldn't actually. There are quite a few people on this board that think crying about bad calls is bad form. Maybe you aren't one of them.

The Chiefs real concerns are a defense that couldn't get the ball back when they needed to on their own side of the field down by three as well as bad play calling, a horrible corps of wide outs, a line that couldn't protect their qb. But if they want to blame the refs instead, that's their foolishness.

Actually no, I'm fully capable of looking at a call objectively and admitting it went our way. Have done it many, many times on this board as have countless other regular posters.

So stop wrapping us all up in your stereotypes. It was the right call, end of story. Jamaal Charles can eat it...
