They don't need to trade Barbosa for nothing. Cuban is going to take Shaq and help us shed 5M payroll in the deal, a news from Dallas has just confirmed it. Why is Sarver hesitating? He personally hates Cuban more than we do? LOL

We're not that lucky.

Read this.

Shaq-to-the-Mavs? It’s both “The Deal So Big That It Probably Won’t Happen’’ and “The Rumor So Big That It Probably Won’t Go Away.’’ What I’m about to write is just sexy enough that I almost require you to read my DB.com Trade-and-Scoop Disclaimer as a way of helping you avoid hyperventilating:

“I don’t know anything about (a Shaq-to-Dallas trade),’’ said an NBA source with a long history of dealing with Dallas owner Mark Cuban. “But I can guarantee you this: Mark would love it. He lives for the short-term. That’s exactly the kind of thing he likes to pull off. For a lot of good reasons, he’d love to do that.’’

Meanwhile, if you think trading a 18+9 legit NBA center for crap is "lucky". I'm all done with this team.

Per Servers own mouth he is not going to make bad basket ball trades for the sake of salary dumping (at least until next year). So, this is probably wishful thinking from the Dallas side of the fence unless Sarver is lying through his teeth.

So is there a link to a reputable source?

Do you consider Barbosa for NOTHING a good basketball trade? Meanwhile, get Josh Howard or Dampier back makes quite some basketball sense for me. This team need a legit center to play alongside Amare, and/or a young SF for next season.

Mainstreet, it is still a rumor, so I'd just hold my breathe and watch ...

No way the Suns take Dampier's contract back.

One of the stupidest rumors I have read yet. There is zero logic to this trade. If the Suns were going to make cap related moves...they sure as hell wouldn't start with a contributing player on the team who has a bargain of a contract.

Phoenix Stan is full of crap.

You mean like Kurt Thomas to Seattle for 2 2nd round picks?

Maybe this rumor is bogus but the people who are using this as a platform to say "Why do we always bash on Sarver? He didn't even DO anything" are killing me.

Its speculation. Speculation that really doesn't sound so far fethched for Sarver. You did read how he was involving himself and calling owners to shed payroll right with Amare right? You did realize he is going crazy at the prospect of the Luxury tax right? Thats not normal owner behavior.

So don't act like this is all kinds baseless. This is EXACTLY the type of trade Sarver would make and now that we know Amare is staying you know he is looking for other alternatives to shed payroll.

I am not saying this isn't completely fabricated and that PHX Stan has any kind of credibility. But the reality is that Sarver has created this perception.

It's like finding out Jeffery Dahmer killed one less victim then he was accused for. Does it really matter at that point?

Sarver has not earned the benefit of the doubt with crap like this. Baseless or not.

Much angst. These are hard economic times and Sarver is playing owner with his own money. It sure was easier when times were better and Colangelo was making deals with other peoples' money.

The rumor sounds dumb anyway.
