I’m still interested to see what exemptions we have, there are a lot of contradictory reports out there.

You are right. There are a lot of conflicting reports. The Suns have the $5 million Saric trade exception but nothing to trade.

@Hoop Head posted some information from ESPN on post #22 earlier today.

Derrick Rose is NOT a starter in today's NBA. He's not even a backup anymore. He's cooked.

Austin Rivers sucks and he's like 6'3", definitely not a SF.

No it isn't. Beal alone makes it better.

Durant / Beal vs Bridges / Cam J / CP3

Much higher ceiling on Durant Beal but a lower floor too just due to Bridges being an ironman.

I thought you were referring to the ending season roster, not the beginning of the year's.

Even so I don't agree. I love Mikal, but Durant is at this moment still the better player - not over the long term but today. Beal is far better than CP3. Yes we are missing a Cam J replacement but his impact is not as much as the difference of Beal over CP3.

You can't judge a team assuming someone will get hurt, you have to judge them on if they are healthy. And you only need them healthy in the playoffs.

I said Durant and Beal had a much higher ceiling so I am agreeing the team is better right now.

The floor represents the future.

Stop agreeing you two! This is a message board. Arguments only! Needs more insults!

He is a bit serviceable, I’m mixed on this as I don’t know if there’s anyone better than ish for this amount.

I like that Ish came back as long as we have at least 9 or 10 players in front of him.

I like they are restarting the resigning process before free agency. I hope they resign the other guys rumored. I think they feel TJ will get more money elsewhere.

No one can be resigned until free agency starts. What we're seeing now is player and team options picked up, and some other teams finalizing extensions.

I think we can contact and work out details because they are our guys. Just can't sign officially until 3 PM our time Friday!

We saw the Bridges, Johnson, Paul floor last season when Booker was injured. It was very bad. I know Johnson was injured too, but he does get injured a lot.

Yes we did but not the way some of you apparently remember it. 8-2. That was "our floor" with Bridges once CamJ returned while Booker remained out.

Prior to the return of Cam Johnson we had a horrible stretch which included 14 losses without Devin but in addition to no Booker and no CamJ and no Jae Crowder we were also missing Cam Payne for 11 of those 14 games, Biyombo missed 5 of them, Washington, Shamet, and CP3 all missed 4 of them, Saric and Jock missed 3 of them plus Ayton and Ish both missed 1 game. When you're starting backups and backup to backups, you're going to struggle. And it says nothing about the few remaining NBA level players on your roster.

They were actually 6-2 without Booker, with CamJ coming back against Memphis on 1/22 and Booker coming back against Brooklyn on 2/7. That said, 8 total games is hardly a big enough sample size to establish "a floor" with that group, especially considering they were all over the place during that stretch from surprising Boston/Memphis to barely eeking out an OT W to the woeful Spurs to an embarassing home loss to a Luka-less Mavs team and a 32 point pulverizing at the hands of a season long limping Hawks mess.

Trying to argue that 6-2 stretch shows you that groups floor means their floor for a full season of no Booker would come out to being 61-21 on the year.

61-21… as THE FLOOR.

That isn’t realistic when you’re talking about a set floor for that group of guys.

I can't believe I'm saying this after some of the things I said about him last year, but I'm glad they kept Wainwright. I haven't looked at the numbers, but towards the end of the year I thought he was very good defensively, even when he got switched out on guards. Like so many other players out there if he can just hit that corner three with some consistency he'll probably end up making a lot of money in this league.

I would really like to see Torrey Craig back. I believe we need Landale . Sometimes it seems like we should be able to throw a rock… Well you guys should be able to throw a rock and hit a defender who can shoot 35% or higher on mostly open corner three-pointers. Unfortunately that's not really the case. That's exactly what is team needs at this point.
