We did not sign Dudley to be our starting 4. He was not doing anything good in the role at the start of the season.
Bender is playing his fair share of minutes considering he is having an overall awful rookie season and clearly not ready.
Dudley was definitely signed to be our starting PF until Chriss or Bender developed enough to take that spot from him. During his press conference after he signed he talked about being a stretch 4 and Watson and McD both backed up that line of thinking. He was so bad though it forced Watson's hand early to move him out of that role. He played a lot of PF last year for the Wizards but that's the Eastern Conference on a team with good offensive players like Wall, Beal, Porter, and Gortat.
How many games do you watch, seriously? You're denying that Dudley was brought in as a stretch 4, even though he was and started the first 10 games or so as our PF, and you also say there's no way Chriss could be a SF but in his best offensive game of the year he played more on the perimeter like a wing player than inside against Memphis. That's not really anything that new for him though. I know he's young but he doesn't have the strength or size to go up against most starting PF's. The only reason Chriss is starting at PF is because Dudley didn't work out there, at all, and it gives Chriss some minutes but Warren is usually playing more like a PF when he's out there with Chriss. If you watched the games, not just highlights matched with the boxscore, you'd see what position everyone is playing while they're on the court.
Here's one of many articles where Dudley, McD, and Watson talk about his signing as a stretch PF...
