The article is poorly written and looks like a rough draft. I don't know why they posted it like this, but here it is.

Suns land/miss out on Barry

MEMPHIS - Make no "Bones" about it. Brent Barry is not coming to Phoenix.

Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said the 36-year-old guard told him this morning that he has chosen . Barry cleared waivers today after being traded by San Antonio last week to Seattle, which released him Friday to set off a weekend of recruiting.

Barry, nicknamed "Bones" for his 6-foot-7, 210-pound frame, was targeted by the Suns to help them spread the floor better with another shooter and have another playmaking option with his ability to slide to point guard. Barry is a career 40.7 percent 3-point shooter and the Suns are trying to keep the floor spread as they work in Shaquille O'Neal, who can not play as wide as Shawn Marion did to start possessions.

Barry would have needed to wait 30 days after his trade to sign with San Antonio, where he helped the Spurs win 2005 and 2007 titles and has his family settled. He already made $5.7 million for the season.

Barry is in his 13th NBA season out of Oregon State. This will be his sixth team, although he has been with San Antonio since 2004. He is the son of NBA legend Rick Barry and brother of former NBA player Jon Barry. He won the slam dunk contest in 1996 and was the league's 3-point shooting champ for the 2000-01 season.

With Barry, Phoenix would have boasted four of the 17 most accurate NBA 3-point shooters in NBA history with Steve Nash (sixth), Leandro Barbosa (11th), Barry (14th) and Raja Bell (17th). MEMPHIS — Make no “Bones” about it. Brent Barry is not coming to Phoenix.

Your thread was beaten by a minute but you spelled Barry right.

I don't get it. Is this an actual article? It seems like a placeholder that isn't finished yet. I'm sure they have both versions of the article written. But look farther down. It says "has chosen ??? over Phoenix, San Antonio, Boston, Houston and Dallas."

What teams are left? I'm not sure this is an actual finished article.

The article is not up at Arizona Central.

It is.

The question mark is San Antonio. As a Spurs fan said in another thread, he hasn't even cleaned out his SA locker yet.

He did spell Barry right. It doesn't really matter. If I was Barry I wouldn't have came here either. I would have picked to go back to the Sturns or LA. I mean really.... We have the worst managed team in the NBA. Why would you want to come here?

It's a placeholder article. Doesn't look like it is supposed to be linked to. Shocked it is live.

I wouldn't stop holding your breath for him yet.

But the Spurs were one of the teams listed as not chosen right after the Suns in that sentence. :p

I was only joking.

It just seems this thread took off first. It's like the first foul in a basketball game no one sees it... it's the second foul everyone sees. :)

This is a placeholder article, similar to writing "Obituaries" for famous people prior to their death...

Of course, notice that their isn't a 'prepared' article stating a positive outcome?

How to we know that? However, it seems the placeholder article was written to be posted but there is some reason it is not up yet.

That's why the title of the article is "Suns land/miss out on Barry". It's a placeholder that Coro wrote, so when the Suns are notified as to Barry's intentions he has an article written either way with only minor modifications. All sports writers do the same thing. It just wasn't supposed to be on the web until Barry notifies the Suns. It's a BIG OOOPS by AZ Central.
