Man, are they just trying to focus on pi$$ing me off or what? Spaghetti against the wall LAST episode? I don't know if they can get more randomly all over the place than this one. First of all, this episode had the Heroes syndrome, having waaaaay too much going on and not enough time spent on them. I'll 'splain in spoilers.

So, Kara Thrace is out in space with a bunch of people that don't believe in her and she's really bitchy. Aaand.....??? The Cali-Tyrel storyline was intriguing, but simply too unfocused. For the two storylines I just mentioned, they didn't do enough with Kara and they did too much too fast with Cali-Tyrel. So we also get a snippet of civil war a-brewin' with the Cylons. I say a snippet, because it's like 'oh here you go, something cool...no wait, we're not REALLY going to let you see it!'. Then the whole Quarum thing, which read like a quick throw-in addition to the script at the last second. Bottom line: choose exactly which storylines you want to focus on, and then do them WELL. Don't try to throw fifty into each epsiode and do them all in a shoddy fashion.

Okay, I think this episode pulled back into focus quite a bit, and I really enjoyed it. I don't think we need spoilers here, per se, but DO NOT READ ON if you haven't seen it yet...

Chief's descent into semi-madness is fun. I think what will eventually pull him back out of it will be learning what happened to his wife. Saul's battle to turn himself off while flashing back to his wife was priceless; more to come on that front, I'm sure! I like how we very much got back to Baltar's storyline, and it looks quite intriguing again. The Quorum finally made sense too. Can't wait for the next one!

Okay, so the next part does need to be in a spoiler.

I think it is quite clear now that Baltar is simply a one-person metaphor for humanity in all its flawed beauty. I wondered why he was pulled through the trial, and I think this is one of the main reasons why. It's also interesting to point out that we have evidence that the ghost #6 that always seems to be with him is a real entity; she physically held him up in that one scene.

I said it was going to be like this in my earlier posts. They have a limited number of episodes to wrap things up and some of those scenes are setups for other stuff to come.

I knew when they announced the end that we would get some pretty unfocused episodes. It almost feels as if they have hit the accelerator and there is no slowing down. To tie up all the loose ends it's going to be a race to the finish line.

It's unfortunate but I will enjoy the ride just the same.

ActingWild, I LOVE your sig line. That made me LOL in the show.

Thanks Stout! Whedon had so many great lines in Firefly/Serenity that it was hard to choose just one, but that's one of my favorites.

Man, I wish that show was still on the air.

Another pretty good episode with a great setup for the next one. Not quite as good as the previous episode, but way better than the loopy ones. At least they're sticking to several storylines an episode now instead of giving us little 30 second to 1 1/2 minute clips, ala Heroes.

:raccoon:

awesome episode tonight

I wasn't as impressed, but for different reasons than usual. The human/cylon stuff was good (wanted to shoot Starbuck myself until that Cylon righted the wrong). That side was a lot of fun. The Roslin stuff wasn't that impressive for me personally, but I could understand why people really liked it. All-in-all, a good, focused episode.

I always wondered what would happen when they got to earth.
I was expecting jets or some kind of air defense to greet them. I hadn't thought about the story occurring in the future.

Yeah, the freaky post-apocalyptic thing is eeeeeeerie. Can't wait to see what happens next. Of course, I'm still royally cheesed off that they turned Tigh into a Cylon. Idiotic, IMO.

So, did anyone else feel the story really flew by in that last episode? Almost could have been split into two separate episodes. BTW: How many episodes are left in the series?

It looks like five more.

Edit - These are Re-Runs from Season 2.

Hey, it also looks like the #6 is joining the cast of Burn Notice. That show just got even better.

I remember you said you would stop watching if that came to pass?

At any rate it doesn't bother for me for one reason. We all know that the Final 5 are not normal Cylons. We know that they are not controlled by the "collective" of Cylons and we know that physically they must be different. Maybe early versions of hybrids?

There is someone pulling their strings for whatever purpose and it's not the Cylons. There is one big piece of this puzzle that is missing and it will probably bring things together. It's just driving me crazy.

Surely whoever flipped on the signal to help thenm find earth alrady knew the condition of earth?

Good new is that they are rumors of them extending the number of episodes to finish out the series. There is also rumors of a 3 hours finale movie. Bring it on. I can't wait.

Whoever said it is right:

10 more episodes, although there is a good chance it will actually end up being 11 HOURS, so a 2-hour finale...meaning 11 episodes.

Also we get webisodes over the summer and at least ONE BSG movie like Razor last year.

I post all kinds of BSG stuff on PopCritics.com, if you guys want to make sure you keep up on the latest news on cool TV shows, etc :)

I might've said that...sounds like me :D

Maybe they are these beings of light..I dunno. Hopefully there is more to it for the final five.

Are we sure that is earth? Maybe it's just another planet on the way to earth?
