After Sunday's Week 16 benching, Beanie Wells told reporters Monday that his "days are numbered" in Arizona.

Wells says he hopes to play in Week 17 in order to "audition for 31 other teams." Although Wells scored some late-season goal-line touchdowns, he was thoroughly ineffective this year with a 2.66 YPC average on 234 carries. His kind is also a dying breed in the NFL, as a two-down back lacking pass-game value. Wells probably wouldn't bring more than a late-round pick via trade.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Because that would lead to another injury of course.

Then of course he goes to the Rams to replace a aging Stephen Jackson and becomes a pro bowler, because that is our luck. He could ALSO just go to the Cowboys and he will make it to the Pro Bowl because he is a... Cowboy :)

I think his days in the NFL are numbered

He had micro fracture surgery on one of his knees. The success rate on coming back from those is pretty low.

He just can't plant and explode anymore. When he goes straight, he is fine. Any sort of run where he has to chop his feet is a problem.

I suspect he will be on a make good contact somewhere next year, but I don't see anyone trading for him, or giving him any guaranteed money.

Hi might be successful behind any team with a line that can open holes. But i don't care, he's had his chances here.

Mental note for the Cards, don't draft a RB that is injury prone.

At any moment, Beanie is about to receive a telephone call from Thomas Jones and be declared inactive shortly afterwards :)

I could see Beanie sticking with another team and being productive. The run blocking in AZ has been putrid for as long as I can remember and with a little help he could run for 1200 yards in a season. Trouble is he has health issues.

Simply, I wouldn't gamble on it and neither should the FO. I'd rather us get Chris Ivory from the Saints and draft another late in the draft, like John White out of Utah.

The run blocking has been atrocious, but Beanie hasn't helped his cause with injuries. I can easily seeing him being a very productive RB once he leaves...it's the Cardinal way. :bang: OJ, TJ, Hearst, Centers, Moore

We just do not have a real good RB on this team. You can often find good ones in the lower rounds and from smaller schools. I would take one this year for sure. Not 1 or 2 but start looking after round 2. OT #2 QB #! Beenie has been a big disappointment. I wish him well.

Are you saying Centers wasn't a productive RB when he was here?

I'll take Jacobs from SF "rotting away on the bench" over Beanie anyday

What we always needed was a RB that could pass block and make some catches. Bruisers in this league don't go we'll when the team has an online with holes like Swiss cheese.

Yep he'll wind up on a team like Denver and rush for 1500.

the same line of thinking prevented the team from taking Adrian Peterson.

Except AD wasnt actually injury pronr. It was one freak collarbone injury in college. Thats it. Sooner fans like myself knew that was a load of malarkey.

He's got going to get a chance to audition for anyone sitting on the bench.
I have a feeling that is exactly where he is going to be.
