Beanie Wells-RB- Cardinals Sep. 24 - 3:32 pm et

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt revealed Friday that Beanie Wells underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on September 2.
This explains Wells' longer-than-anticipated absence from what Whisenhunt initially termed a knee "bruise." Whisenhunt wouldn't guarantee Friday that Wells will play against the Raiders, but did say he expects it to happen. Wells will likely be considered a game-time decision, working out in front of medical staff before the game.

Wow. If they had to scope him he should sit a minimum of 4 weeks. He should not play until after we play the Chargers IMO.

We can call him Ken Belichick now.

No way should he play. Love to see him out there but TH, LSH can handle it and have done well so far. It's the other parts of this team that need to get going.

Where is Urban on this? You know the guy who has his office in the team facility and talks to the players and coaches every day so we need to take everything he says as gospel?

Oh that's right, he's a Cardinal employee. Never mind.

And what about the other sportswriters who always seem to have an unnamed source close to the Cardinals?

That just shows you there aren't any leaks coming out of the organization. I never heard anything about a surgery. I hope they let him rest. Timmy!

uh... are they trying to kill this kid's career? He had his knee scoped Sept. 4th and he might be back on the field 3 weeks later? That doesn't make sense to me.

I stopped reading and paying attention to anything Urban says since he became an official member of the Cardinals. Dude is a cheer-leader and nothing more. Early in camp, when Matt was still entrenched as starter, he was raving about how much better he looked than Anderson, but once things starting going south, he completely reversed course talking about how much Matt struggled in practices. He spews whatever the team wants him to spew.

Hold on now. You can absolutely look better than Anderson yet still be struggling in practice. I know I saw it with my own eyes.

Once again, Whiz says nuttin'.

Love it. I'd give that man the nuclear codes with complete confidence.

Yeah I don't like this at all. There is no reason to rush him back this week. TH, LSH and Wright can all handle the job while he is out another week.

So what was the point of all the secrecy?? They couldn't just come out and say he was having surgery??

Not all scopes are made equal, there is not set time table for them and they are done at varying degree's. Athletes come back from scopes within a week sometimes without any lingering or long term effects all the time. Wells has been shelved for 3 weeks. I see no reason why he shouldnt be allowed to play if the staff thinks he is healthy.

Let the coaches, Wells and most importantly, the team docs make the determination about his status. If he's healthy, let him play even if it's the Raiders. Let him shake the rust off then so he can be effective in San Diego.

Thats very true and IMO a good thing.

Unless you picked him on your fantasy team and wouldn't have picked him nearly as high if you'd known he'd had knee surgery.

Agree with others they need to be careful about playing him too quickly.

He spews whatever the team wants him to spew.

He may not be allowed to report certain things but he is not forced to spew a single thing. The opinions he has come from his own brain and his alone. I know this to be a fact. In fact if people read what he writes carefully he actually gives out more information then people realize. Just listen to the podcasts or radio interviews he is definitely not just spewing.

How true that is. Some people IMO, seem to worry more about there fantasy football team, then they actually do about a players career.

I suspect he simply isn't told things they don't want broadcast

You big bad meanie. Why is it you almost always come up with the most logical answers whenever you post? The severity and surgeons and team medical staff have watched this Multi-Million dollar kid every long day.I trust THEM to know When Beanie is ready to go and He's going this week although Coach Whiz said yesterday he is'nt back in football shape yet.

This means he'll probably get less than 10 carries for sure as a breather for Timmy and some live action which is more important going into next week.

Not sure if this is the case across the NFL, but any Cards reporter is strictly prohibited from sending out "news' that has not already been diseminated by the team or Whiz himself...

Back pain

Starting left guard Alan Faneca was added to the injury list Friday with a back problem. The injury report was released after coaches and players were available to media.

Faneca is listed as questionable. If he can't play, Rex Hadnot or Jeremy Bridges could start.

"Back Pain" :Whizz_Translation: Faneca has three crushed vertebrae and has undergone back surgery to fuse his spine into a permanent "run-block" position.

Well, Duh. :D

Of course Urban is going to "print what the company wants him to".

Some people like to watch the WWE, lol.

I like Urban, but agree you have to take into account who he works for when he is printing blogs, stories, etc., etc.

Does a good job, IMO for what he is paid to do.

With all sincerity, where do you go for blog/cards news ?

I read Somers now and then.
