My oft stated preference would be sign Brent Barry because he could team with either JJ or Barbosa. If the Suns sign Nash, it greatly reduces Barbosa's minutes because you really can't play both at the same time.

I am totally on board with you and the benefit of signing Brent Barry. After looking at his stats over the last five years this guy adds a lot in the areas that we need. Could be a great bench player 2 or 3 years down the road. His shooting and long range shooting could open a lot of offense in the post for Amare and McDyess, if we resign him.

I think if we keep our spending at a minimum this summer and add both Jon and Brent Barry and resign McDyess, we could take a lot of flexibility into the season and maybe make a deal during the season when there is less competition for players. Barbosa is better suited off the bench any way you look at it.

As far as centers, I wish you could get on board with me and Theo.

Sign me up as another person who support signing Brent Barry. As stated above, Barry has the ability to spread the floor and make things easier for Amare and McDyess. He would be our deadliest outside weapon and make teams pay for leaving him open. It also doesnt hurt that he could switch between PG and SG.

As for the center position... none of the free agent names really intrigues me. The only player I would consider would be Divac, Foyle, Blount.

I like Barry but I am concerned about his age. But that's about it. Otherwise, I'm all for the Suns signing him, but NOT overpaying.

I would like to see Swift here. I think he wouldn't have to worry about play on the O side and only worry about being a shot blocker might help him develope better. I don't want to give him to much cash but if we don't get Kobe. a mix of Berry, Swift or Nash and Swift would be nice.

I've brought this up before. What happens to a team that signs Kobe Bryant if he's found innocent but looks extremely guilty like O.J. Simpson?

I've thought about it, and I don't see how it's possible.

Everyone already knows that Bryant had sex with the alleged victim. He's not accused of having sex, so the main act of the "crime" is already on the table. For O. J. Simpson, there was no such thing as "consensual mortal stabbing." It was 100% certain that a crime had been committed; the only question was by whom.

Also, any evidence pointing to Bryant's guilt is going to be subjective, based on what the alleged victim did or did not say or do. Simpson's guilt was clear from objective scientific evidence, easily reproduced for the world to see.

The worst-case scenario for Bryant is that the defense establishes that the alleged victim had no other sex partners at about the same time as the encounter, and a medical examiner makes a judgement call saying that the bruises she sustained aren't compatible with a consensual act. But even that's pretty shaky, and it won't end up making Bryant look "clearly guilty."
