Grown. Ass. Man.
Does anyone remember when that qoute came out? Was it after the Carolina game?
Grown. Ass. Man.
Fitz's go ahead TD in the Bowl. By a mile!! Only Cardinal play that I actually cried after. Right there in Raymond James Stadium, surrounded by Cardinal fans.... water works all around. It was a beautiful thing really.

It was in some mic'ed up piece where he was telling a defender after the play that he was a grown ass man.. Cant remember which team though..
Was this when the goalpost got torn down? Seems like that was before 97 but i don't know. One of my best memories from SDS.
For which one, and why would it matter?
I am gonna go out on a limb and assume you're speaking of the Poole catch. I wasn't there, but you needn't be present in order to recognize greatness. It was a great play, but had no significance. That catch made us 4-12 and cost us the #1 overall pick. It even gave some people the false security of thinking their team had found a QB. I was super-pissed when Nate hauled that ball in.
Boldin's TD's against the Panthers and Whiners were awesome and far better plays IMO.

And who did we get with our first pick the next year? I'm glad he caught it.
I understand it's pure conjecture to state who we may have drafted but tell me, would you rather have Fitz, or Fitz and the opportunity to draft Merriman and Cooley/Kaeding/whoever??
As much as you guys are celebrating our win in that game, if it is what cost us Merriman, then that catch could have very likely cost us the SB last year. Big Ben wasn't half as effective in the AFCC with Terrell Suggs in his face all game.
With all due respect, I dont think you fully understand what you just said. You cant celebrate losing an opportunity to capitalize and improve your team. I think we were gonna take Fitz no matter what, so we should have been in a fabulous position to trade down a spot or two and really help our team.
The Giants were desperate (look at what they gave up) to get Eli. The Chargers knew Manning wasn't going to play for them so they were gonna take Philips if they couldn't find a trade. If we had the first we could have traded it to the G-Men for the fourth and acquired the picks that became Shawn Merriman and Kaeding!!
Rackers' first year with the team was '03 and he was far from impressive, so we may have used the thrid rounder on Kaeding, but in the event that we didn't there was a fabulous player at a position of need sitting there in Chris Cooley.

Chris Dishman actually making a block should stick out.I believe it was our first game in the Seahawks stadium. Thomas Jones was handed the ball as Chris Dishman was pulling. Dishman DESTROYED the defensive player, sealing the hole and Jone took off for an over 50 yd TD.
Not the best play ever but you guys already put those up. This play just sticks in my mind years later.

Playing the Vikings brings back memories of Josh and Nate making 40,000 Vikings fans disappear in a flash.
So thought it would be a good time to have a thread to discuss the best or most exciting plays since the Cards moved to Arizona. This is for INDIVIDUAL plays not best games.
I'm going to go back a few more years to ST Louis. Mel Grays no catch/catch vs Washington.
You dont follow directions very well do you?![]()

Uh, I hate to tell you but your reading skills need some sharpening. Neither scenario featured a Fitz-less Cards team.Uh, I hate to tell you but we wouldn't have been in the Super Bowl last year without #11. No way!!! He performed at a level that we will never see again.
I think you misunderstood the initial question.
It was:
BEST EVER ARIZONA CARDINAL'S PLAYS.
not
BEST EVER ARIZONA CARDINAL'S PLAYS, AND THE IMPACT THEY HAD PERTAINING TO OUR DRAFT AND FUTURE SEASONS.
The McCown to Poole catch WAS a great play and one I will always remember, regardless of the impact it had on our draft position.

Here's my list:
1. Hightower's 4th down run vs Eagles in NFC Championship
2. Fitz 64 yd TD in the Super Bowl
3. Eric Metcalf's Kickoff return vs San Diego to set up winning FG in 1998
4. Butler's ricochet FG to beat Dallas in OT in '97.
5. Aeneas Williams 103 yd fumble return vs Redskins
6. Poole's catch vs Vikings
7. Spach's third down catch vs Atlanta in Wild Card
8. Lomax to Green for 9yd TD to beat SF after trailing 23-0
9. Morey's punt block to beat Dallas in OT
10. Tom Tupa to Ernie Jones for 72 yards to beat Dallas in 1989
the "Phantom Catch"!!! That was the most ridiculous TD call EVER!!! I think Gray had possession for about a millimeter of a second. Jim Hart conned the ref into that call.
