For me, it was the futile sandlot football play made by the Eagles on the final play of the championship game, when Dockett caught the ball that DeSean Jackson flipped right to him. I couldn't let myself believe we did it until then.

Another one was the 53 yard (IIRC) field goal by Chris Jackie to beat San Diego in 98 to send us to the play-offs, where we got the pleasure of knocking Dallas out.

The Hightower TD comes to mind for me 1st as well, though I have to admit that the Fitz TD was the first time I really thought we might win the game.

God I hope we make it back to the SB again in my lifetime. That was a truly magical season. Do you wonder if it get's old for teams with multiple SB appearances/victories?

I remember when I ran my 1st marathon. Nothing compares to crossing that finish line for the 1st time - and I've been chasing it for awhile.

Go Cards!!!

Meh, it was this one. :D

Donald, did you take that one? Looks awful close to your seats.

Best plays that meant something:

1. Hightower's Screen in NFC Championship
2. Fitz's Super Bowl TD Catch-Run

My favorite: Fitz's Double Coverage TD against ATL in the playoffs, pure awesomeness, they will be playing that on the screen when Fitz finally hangs them up.

Honorable mention:

The other Larry hurdling the Cowboy.
Jacke's 52 yard FG in 1998 against the Chargers to end a long dry spell.

3 yd shovel pass Plummer flipped to Centers in the 1998 playoffs to beat Dallas. This ended the absolute misery of the previous 30 years.

Fitz Superbowl has to be there for me too.

Who was it that Plummer hit on the deep crossing route in the Dallas playoff game? Moore? That one gets honorable mention in my book. That play set the tone for the game, IIRC.

The screen pass to Hightower, for sure. But I really want to pick Larry's catch and run in the superbowl because i probably had to change my pants afterwards.

Honorable mention:

Damn, cant get the embedding to work :(

This play really stands out. We for 2 weeks leading into the playoffs about how the Cards were the worst playoff team ever and Larry and Warner slapped their mouths shut with one beautiful play.

I'm just the opposite. When he scored I went f'n nuts of course. But looked up at scoreboard and clearly yelled to my bud. "way to much time left"

:(

The Fitzgerald TD is it for me. I know Shane will say I'm wrong but Shane says that no matter what I say! Yes we did leave too much time, but I thought the exact same thing after Hightower scored. We won one game and lost the other, but when Fitz broke free, it was unreal. My dad is an old Vietnam vet with bad knees and he jumped, literally, JUMPED out of his chair and my entire family was jumping around with him screaming and yelling and hugging, I ran outside and was screaming and could hear all my neighbors yelling as well.

Then we lost.

But it was still the greatest play in Cardinal history, it was one of the happiest single moments in my memory and I'm not going to let the fact that our defense sucked take it away from me.

You didn't have the same reaction on the Hightower score? ;)

Because by those videos the whole stadium did? I know I did lol

BTW I cant tell you your wrong. Only I dont agree. This is a personal choice. I'll take the play that got us where I never thought I would ever be. The other play while great and crazy essentially amounted to nothing.

Nope, I didn't. We had already blown one lead in that game and when he scored, I cheered and then looked at the clock and said; 'oh no...'

It didn't really hit me that we were going to the Superbowl until the confetti started pouring down. That game was more of a (whole) experience for me than a single play.

In a weird twisted way, and I know I'm gonna get roasted for this, I think "The Leenart" collar bone power drive set forth a series of events that eventually lead to many of the plays I see posted in this thread. I thought our "QBOF" (I still love that term, it's sooo Conan O'brien) was crushed. Well he was crushed and all, but then...

The last offensive drive of NFC Championship game was epic. Losing all momentum and the lead with a Desean Jackson bomb, then going on a 10 minute drive in the 4th quarter, with a 4th and 1 conversion at midfield, then converting a 3 and 8 for a touchdown, with a Hightower screen, and converting the 2 point conversion for a 7 point lead.

Awesomeness

That one probably has the most meaning to me. I remember being on the phone with my dad, a lifelong Cardinal fan who was living in Florida and didn't have Directv, and giving him the play by play. After the kick was good, I was just running around my living and kitchen yellling, "he made it, he made it".

Good call, except even at the moment that play occurred I thought, "They scored too quickly; there's too much time left on the clock..."

I thought the exact same thing. Instead of celebrating the TD I was concerned not enough time had been taken off the clock.
