And watched Denver or Dallas or San Francisco play on Television.

Keep the roof open. I miss the TV shot of the solitary guy in the upper deck east side at SDS surrounded by 1000's of empty seats with his sun glasses, tanning lotion and solar reflector.

Days like that we would celebrate if at least one person was sitting in each section.

Atlanta game at SDS September 30th 2001, 104 degrees with a hot, dusty wind blowing.

23,790 paid attendance. Those were the days.

I believe that was the weekend of the first and only AZprosports golf tournament.

Well sorry you are being a one a bit.
Well at least I'm not alone.

Bob Young's article.

The Cardinals had the roof of University of Phoenix Stadium closed Sunday with 64-degree temps in Glendale.

That's just criminal.

Evidently, the Cardinals are facing the same issue the Diamondbacks have come up against: fans whining that the sun is in their eyes.

Of course, those fans knew the sun might actually shine on them when they purchased the tickets.

Since these pro teams want to attach sponsorship to everything these days - "That's a first-down at the Alltel 23-yard line, Wolf!" "Not so fast, Dave, here comes the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Chain Gang for a measurement" - maybe they can call it the APS Solar Section or something. Give them sunglasses, a freebie visor and tell them to shut it - their mouths, not the roof.

Actually no it's not obvious and frankly I was more concerned about opposing team fans than the sun.

I've sat on both sides of SDS and the sun factor at that game was far worse. Maybe because most of the field is in shadow whith just the stands in the sun. Before you start complaining about something maybe you should look into the issue further.

The problem is MUCH worse than at SDS, much worse and duh people did have hats and sunglasses. The sarcasm in that article really pisses me off, the write ought to get his butt out of the press booth on the west for the next game and come over to the east side to take in the view. Basicly you can't see worth ...

It was indeed, my group won it, no thanks to me:D Thank god for a ringer. It was hot as H E double toothpicks that weekend. We flew out from St. Louis to be in the tourney and about passed out. I dont think the Atlanta Rb ever made it off the field in one piece. Not sure he ever played again.
