I find the teenagers in the house by far the most interesting characters. I don't think they've created enough angst, though. Will keep watching for that this season.
Bill is going to really piss off Roman if he goes behind his back and buys that Video Poker business. Not to mention creepy Rhonda running away and going to his house.

I'm rather envious of the business skills Bill has. He's already at war with Roman because Roman no longer controls his son regarding the investigation.
Of course, this gamble could cost Bill his entire business, because he's now getting his partner involved with the war against Roman. And that relationship with Don is already strained.
At first I thought it was the government that was after him when the dude was so sketchy, but that van shot tells me the Mob...I don't think the guy ushering him in was from Juniper Creek.
I love Nikki, btw...what a great character.
And the waitress? Come on...he needs a 4th house like he needs a hole in his head.
As an aside, Pushing Tin came on HBO last night, and I was laughing when I saw Albie in that movie...he was wound up all tight...just like Albie.

There is a show on HBO on Demand where they talk to women who are either still in plural marriages or used to be in them. The women liked big love, but they all objected to the scenes when Bill is having casual sex with the wives that wasn;t for making babies. They said it the plural marriage principle is not about sex. Then they interviewed a man that used to be part of a plural marriage. He said of course it is about sex.
As creepy as Roman is, Harry Dean Stanton continues to turn in remarkable performances and somehow manages to give the character a smidge of empathetic value. I don't know how he does it, but I always end up viewing Roman as more complicated that pure evil, which is exactly what they character deserves. Has he won any awards for this role yet? Seriously, he gets my vote for some kind of supporting actor award.
I am disappointed this storyline is already done. I was really looking forward to trying to fold Anna into the family and how she would take it. Nikki clearly had no issue with a plural marriage nor did Margene but Barb has made at least one comment I can readily recall where she basically said the only reason she went with it was her love for Bill...I don't think she was initially very willing to have more wves in the fold.
Where the heck did this underworld crew come from? I don't recall their names ever coming up before.
Yes, the reveal of a higher corruption than Juniper Creek and the UEB was interesting...my wife called it the Polygafia. And the asexual being about to brand bill was far creepier than Roman at his child-leering, prophet-pretending best. Looking at shim when Bill got the reprieve, you could tell shim really wanted to brand his ass, but good and was very sad. :shudder:
The new crew seems to be specifically based on Warren Jeffs and the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (formerly based in Colorado City, Ariz., and Hilldale, Utah). John Dougherty kicked some butt on reporting on this crew the past few years.
I must be the only regular viewer that doesn't like where Chloe Sevigny takes her character. I think I see where the writers want to take the character, but Sevigny only seems to have one gear, which makes it really difficult to understand how Chloe was ever received as No. 2 wife. I expect more subtlety from such an accomplished actress.
Yeah, I love Chloe's acting in this show...she's so compound.
UM...tonight's episode looks to be off the flippin hook (flippin... ). And what is good about Big Love is their previews usually don't oversell the episode, like most other shows (sopranos was notorious for a sick teaser then it was nothing like the preview).
do you think Roman is dead? I said he is either dead, or really bad off and that Albie would take over Juniper Creek. Then the previews showed Albie all crazy nutso running the UEB council so I guess I'm right. I think they actually killed Roman....big balls if they do
A LOT took place in that episode. Oh, and I loved the way that old dude hung up the phone like he was giving dictation for a letter or something -- Respectfully yours, Hollis Green (or whatever his name is).
"You're a good girl" Nicki: uh huh....
"You're a naughty girl" Margene: uh huh....
Nicki should have just Bill work it for a little bit more...she'd have been ay-ok. Again though, I love her because she is just SOOOOO compound...though next week her hair is different and she's doing something crazy there
I think Albie has had her banned and is harassing her
awesome episode - i just got caught up on my DVR Sunday and was able to watch last nights - so much going on - i continue to like the way they put this show together
they paint bill's whole world as falling apart - the insane green family is coming for him, moreso than when they blew up his boat and tried to brand his ass - he was playing both roman and the greens and it was falling apart on him - his a-hole dad was trying to shake him down at work and is a legit threat to him - his uncle is backing him with stolen funds and his mother is money laundering (at a laundry mat no less) - he's losing guidance over his kids - an LDS deacon shows up unannounced into his plural house - he's pulling couch duty and having serious issues with the wives
how does this get settled - the ATF chases the green and roman gets shot - the wives work out an accord and he starts the path to re-devoting his time with his kids - his mother gets out of the laundry business and uncle flees the state
about the best result you could hope for - except that there are still some greens running around, rhonda is still out there, juniper creek is going to go into a state of chaos and bill and his family is going to be targeted by a whole new group now
kind of funny how having a major player character get shot can non-chalantly happen in the ending song and with so much focus on bill you almost slough the episode off as building to nothing - just because bill skated again
not to mention this was loaded with sex and violent aggression
