Possible trades to get the Suns better defensively and rebounding wise while not losing scoring.

#1. Seattle is in rebuild mode and draft picks are definitely what they like. Look at what it took for them to take KT from us. So:
Amare/Tucker/Strawberry/Atl pick
for
Wilcox/Collison/Petro/West

Gives the Sonics another BIG name in Amare to draw fans in with Durant and Green. They also get 2 youngins with tons of potential, Tucker (one of the best pure scorers in college), and Strawberry (who is one hell of a defensive beast with an outside shot that is progressing quickly)..both who can play numerous positions. Plus they get the Atlanta pick next year unprotected.

Gives the Suns a lot more rebounding and defensive bigs in Wilcox (who could flourish like Amare in Phoenix) and Collison. They get a great back-up for Nash in West as well as a project big in Petro.

#2. Amare/Diaw to Denver for Camby/Nene/Smith

Gives the Nuggets a better Big to play with Melo and AI in the middle to make the team faster and more feared offensively.

Gives the Suns a definite increase in rebounding and defense in Camby (especially against Duncan) plus another (BIG) Brazilian to play with Barbosa in Nene. It also gives them another outside scoring threat in Smith.

#3. Yes folks, I'm gonna say it!!!! A trade with New York.
Amare/Tucker/Atl Pick
for
Curry/Lee/Richardson

Gives the Knicks something. A change there is definitely in need there.

Gives the Suns more of a presence on the boards in Lee and Curry. Plus we get a guy who flourished in his career here in Richardson.

#4. Amare/Skinner/Banks/Atl pick for Jamison/Haywood/Blatche

Gives the Wiz a major inside presence with Arenas and Butler. Especially since this is Jamisons final year of his contract plus a back-up PG that they need since Daniels is out for quite awhile (I know they just signed Wilks)

Gives the Suns a true center in Haywood and a stud in Jamison (who's playing for a contract this year...definitely showing it stat wise) with a young stud in the making in Blatche.

well hell sinse this thread went borked so soon i'll throw my ideas into it.

TRADE #!:
Amare/Banks for Dalambert/Iggy

Iggy is NOT happy in Philly and the chances of him resigning with this team look to be pretty slim right now. Dalambert makes way to much money to be on a rebuilding losing team. so getting rid of him would be ideal. Banks would give this team a decent backup PG behind Miller also.

Iggy would be perfect for our team. Dalambert would also give us the defense and rebouding down low that we lack.

TRADE #2:
Marion/Barbosa/Tucker for Miller/Gay/Cardinal/Lowry

we would get a great 6th man off the bench with range in Miller, while both Gay and Lowry would give us some decent young talent to grow with. Cardinal is just a bad contract that Memphis would LOVE to get rid of.

Dalambert/Skinner
Gay/Diaw
Hill/Miller
Igoudala/Bell
Nash/Lowry

the odds of memphis parting with Gay are slim to none at this point. Kid is a stud.

Amare and Raja for Kobe and Bynum

Best deal the Lakers could hope to get for Kobe.

Replaces Raja's defense with defense AND offense in Kobe.
Bynum is a decent interior defender and very young.

Boris gets to blossom.

Its a thought

Edited trades above. Originally had a trade that didn't help the Suns THIS year.

Here's another that both teams MIGHT do, even though they're both playoff contenders.

Amare/Diaw/Strawberry (and possibly Atl pick) for Okur/AK47/Milsap

Amare would be a beast next to Boozer, Diaw and definitely Strawberry would work perfectly on a Sloan team.

Suns get another defensively stalwort in AK-47, an above average big man in Okur and a gem and upcoming stud in Milsap.

I don't think Sloan would want a player that has shown the lack of defensive effort that Amare has lately. Idea #4 and #2 in your initial post are not too bad, especially #2. I would probably still pass though.

No thanks, trades amare for pennies on the dollar and throws away all our youth. when did wilcox and collison become defensive bigs? They rebound, but they dont block or steal nearly enough to be called defensive in any form. Theyre underachieving defenders.

Petro is of zero use to us, and delonte cant even produce anything resembling consistency over there.

Are you giving the ATL pick away for Christmas here? Theres no reason to add it in.

#2. Amare/Diaw to Denver for Camby/Nene/Smith

This is intriguing because it moves diaw as well. Except Nene has yet to show up this season, and Smith has the potential to become streaky and cancerous at the same time. We are still giving up our youthful big for an old big that seems to be just as injury prone.

Why are you playing the role of martyr with New York? Lee is a good pickup, but curry wouldnt make it off the bench in phoenix. What are you smoking here? He can barely score this year, rebounds less than amare, and probably has more turnovers than blocks and steals combined. Not to mention he is a black hole. Curry is the antithesis of suns basketball.

This would be good if we were going blow the team up next year. Jamison's expiring and marion opting out with be quite a chunk off the books. I dont see how it could make us better this year, and the only true upside is banks for blatche, but again losing the ATL pick doesnt seem worth it. Amare is 25, and the youth in return dont produce nearly enough to make up for his loss, no matter how much he is choking these last few weeks.

Three of these trades dont make us better, and the denver one is questionable besides the possiblity that they wouldnt want to deal with a west coast rival.

No Amare, no championship, at least not for the junks you guys seem to be willing to trade him for. Here is an idea to swap other pieces:

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1581640&postcount=39

i like your idea a lot, i think gooden would be great on our team along with ak. the only problem i see is it looks like the suns get the best of this deal by far. i'd be interested to see how lebron would be with diaw because for once he wouldn't have to create for himself

Actually, I personally don't like Gooden but believe he'd be decent on the Suns. At least he is a big man that can play. I always start with an assessment whether the other team would profit from the trade proposed. I believe Cavs, now with Varairao back, don't really need Gooden but Diaw's skill set would suit them quite. It's a gamble maybe worth taking for them.

As for Utah, as soon as Okur comes back, AK might be unhappy again. So, the trade is mainly financial and team chemistry with about equal talents.

Here's a big and completely unlikely trade that I just cooked up in the Trade Machine:
