So basically which rookie would be the largest upgrade at their position vs our current players at OT and OG.

Eric Fisher replacing Potter or Levi at LT or Warmack replacing Colledge at LG?

That's pretty easy, Fisher isn't even as highly rated as Brown was coming out of college. Warmack is considered one of the best OGs to enter the draft in a decade.

Warmack. There's a whole slew of proven LTs to pick up in FA

Not to mention, releasing one of our extremely overpaid guards will open up some cap space

Warmack, with the main reason being that I don't think Fisher will be an upgrade over Levi.

I would take Fisher over D'anthony Batiste though :D.

Surprisingly, this wouldn't open up much cap space because of accelerated signing bonuses. Looking at Spottrac, it looks like we would only save 500,000 on the cap by cutting Colledge, and 0 by cutting Snyder.

Well at least we would have plenty of depth at OG

Draft Fisher, move Levi to right tackle.

then I think you severely underestimate Massie and how he played towards the end of the season unless you plan to move him to guard...but why the hell would one do that with a young player who has just showed he could be solid at RT for years to come

The 2013 CAP hit for Colledge is: $7.275M

The accelerated bonus to be paid if released now: $4.5M

CAP saving: $2.775M

That's only his accelerated signing bonus. Colledge re-structured his contract last offseason and converted $3.1 million in salary into a re-signing bonus.

That adds another $2.3M+ to the cap charge if he's released this year--meaning a little over $6.8M if he's released--right now, because he's due a roster bonus sometime in the near future.

Yeah, cutting Colledge would just be creating room for 2014 as it would be a wash for 2013.

Warmack is a ginormous upgrade over whomever we have at guard. Fisher in the Top 10 is an incredible reach. Nice prospect, but he's probably not a difference-maker. Top 25, not Top 10.
